23.01.2022 REMINDER: K-2 CROSS COUNTRY CARNIVAL This Thursday 17 September 2020 a mini cross country for K-2 students will be held at Engadine West PS. Students will need to wear their sports uniform as normal. They must have a drink bottle and hat. Students are asked to bring a blanket or towel to sit on as the ground underneath the trees does not have much grass cover and may be damp. Unfortunately parent access to the school continues to be restricted, however, the event will be feat...ured in the school newsletter and social media. 21.01.2022 K-2 Easter hat parade tomorrow We are looking forward to the K-2 Easter hat parade tomorrow. Students are reminded to bring their Easter hat and may wear mufti. Our K-2 Easter hat parade will commence just after 12.00pm along the walkways of our school. Gates on Ridge Road and Buckle Avenue will open at 11.50am and visitors must sign into the school using the QR code system. Visitors are asked to bring their own chair and umbrella for shade and to socially distance in the des...ignated areas. Years 3-6 students will join in as spectators and may wear mufti also. 21.01.2022 Year 6 Fete Fundraiser Token orders for the Year 6 fete fundraiser close at 8.00pm tonight, Thursday 5 November 2020, via Flexischools. A copy of the note sent home with ordering instructions may be found on the school website. The Year 6 fete day will be held on Tuesday 10 November 2020.

20.01.2022 Stage 2 students enjoyed STEM activities this week, melting chocolate and designing catapults as part of our science program. Don't worry, we did not combine the two activities!

20.01.2022 BOOK WEEK DRESS-UP DAY - Thursday 22 October 2020 Book Week will be held during Week 2 Term 4 and this year's theme is 'Curious Creatures, Wild Minds'. Students are invited to create a costume using the theme or dress-up as their favourite book character on Thursday 22 October (Week 2). Have fun preparing costumes during the holidays and let your minds run wild!

18.01.2022 NSW PSSA knockout football (soccer) postponed - Tuesday 30 March 2021 Tomorrow's Round 1 game of the NSW PSSA soccer knockout competition at Kingswood Oval, Engadine has been postponed. This game will be rescheduled for Term 2 with a date to be advised.

09.01.2022 We have our very own NSW state champion! Jett N recently won the NSW PSSA 2020/21 U/11 SHOT PUT and he is now ranked #2 in Australia. The extra pleasing thing to note is that Jett is a clever, hard-working student and a kind, respectful person too. Congratulations Jett, we're all extremely proud of you.

09.01.2022 Thank you to our school community for your contributions towards our 'talk like a pirate day'. Mrs Maroney had over 220 pirate lunch orders and our coin donation this morning raised $295 for childhood cancer. We had some great costumes and we all enjoyed the treasure hunt. There will be some tired pirates tonight.

07.01.2022 Reminder: NAIDOC Week Mufti Tomorrow - Tuesday 10 November 2020 This week Engadine West PS is celebrating NAIDOC Week. This year's theme is Always Was, Always Will Be. All classes will be participating in activities during class time to celebrate and learn about the culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Tomorrow, Tuesday 10 November 2020, students are invited to wear mufti in the colours of the Aboriginal flag (black, yellow, red) and/or Torres Strait Islander flag (black, green, blue, white). The mufti day will be held on the same day as the Year 6 Fete. No donation of money is required for the mufti day.

05.01.2022 Pirate Mufti Thursday Don't forget 'Talk Like a Pirate' mufti day tomorrow, Thursday 24 September 2020 to raise money for childhood cancer. Students are invited to dress like a pirate or may wear appropriate mufti clothes with covered-in footwear. No singlets or midriff tops. ... We ask that no plastic/metal pirate swords or weapons be brought to school, however, cardboard imitations are acceptable. Collection buckets will be located in the playground in the morning for students who wish to donate a gold coin. A donation of $2 has already been included for students who have pre-ordered a canteen lunch deal. Thanks for your support.

02.01.2022 Our indigenous students connecting to country at Engadine West PS now have a new name, with the help of the Gujaga Foundation at La Perouse, called the Djurwalinjang Group. The term 'Djurwalinjang' means 'we grow together' in Dharawal language and represents the core values of Engadine West PS. Students have worked with Mrs Cousins to create a joint artwork and individual totems. During NAIDOC Week, students presented their artwork to each class, leading cultural discussions and learning.

02.01.2022 Remembrance Day 2020 looked a little bit different this year. Our prefects did a great job delivering the important message of commemorating those who have served and fallen for our country. Today we paused to remember, reflect and be grateful for our freedom. Lest we forget.
