25.01.2022 Throw back Thursday! Tiny little Ruby came in to visit our hospital today and she's not so tiny anymore! Here's an early pic of Nurse Holly beaming at the chance to snuggle Ruby at her very first vaccination consult, along side a pic of Ruby falling asleep in Holly's arms this afternoon, after a big day in hospital. We love our relationships with our patients, it's what makes this industry so special

24.01.2022 A helpful reminder of the benefit of face masks, adequate hand hygiene and social distancing. --1.5m-- While it is not mandatory for us to wear face masks in NSW and may not ever be mandatory, the current advice from the Gov is as follows; "People in NSW should consider wearing a face mask in situations where physical distancing is not possible." https://www.health.gov.au//should-i-wear-a-face-mask-in-pu ... The health and saftey of our Clients and Staff is our top priorities. As such we are asking our team to wear face masks while at work. If you are concerned about your health and wish to wear a face mask while in reception or consultation, please do so. Additionally if you would still prefer to await your appointment outside in the safety of your car please let them team know and we will accommodate you accordingly. Shared below is a gorgeous illustration by May Gibbs in 1919 as part of a NSW Gov campaign for awareness and action in the midst of the deadly Spanish Flu.

22.01.2022 Hairy Halloween!! Wishing you all a safe and spooky night. Remember to gobble down your chocolate and candy or store it away safely so that little sneaky mouths don't get the chance to feast #halloween #trickortreat #lizclimo #littleworldoflizclimo
22.01.2022 Now that were home all the time, how does this affect our pets? when an owner suddenly does go out to run an errand, they become anxious. And when, eventually, they do have to go back to work, then well then see even more with chronic anxiety disorders, and separation anxiety. Pets whove been adopted during the COVID-19 pandemic could find it particularly tough when their new-normal finishes to be replaced by an empty home.

20.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING COVID-19 & OUR HOSPITAL Due to the ever growing list of affected areas, the situation in Melbourne and to do our part to help stop the spread we have made the decision this week to make masks mandatory for everyone entering our veterinary hospital. Our team have been sporting their super cute fabric face masks for the past week and we think theyve looked truly glamorous. ... We respectfully request that if you are entering our hospital for a consultation with your pet that you please wear a mask at all times. We can provide you with a face mask on your arrival to reception. However we strongly encourage you to bring your own along, to assist with the tight limitations we face on ordering surgical masks If you have any concerns please contact our hospital on 9548 3345. We greatly appreciate your co-operation in keeping our staff and other clients safe during this time. Were all in this together, lets stay kind, healthy and keep looking out for each other.
20.01.2022 Hope everyones having a peaceful Sunday filled with snacks and chasing the sunny spots
19.01.2022 We love educating our clients about their beloved pets, but for a change this post is about people instead, specifically those who look after your pets - your vet. Its no secret that being a vet is extremely challenging and rewarding, but what is it that makes vets 4 times more likely to commit suicide? Why is it that most vets have contemplated leaving an industry that they love? A lot of these challenges may not be what youd expect. SBS INSIGHT explored some of the many... confronting challenges that vets deal with on a daily basis, the long term effects of these and raising awareness of the importance of self care especially amongst veterinarians. #loveyourpetloveyourvet
19.01.2022 Oh Wynx, you sweet Sphynx! Dr Rita couldn't get enough of this little miss at her first kitten health check and we can see why! Can't wait to watch you grow into those wrinkles little one. #Sphynx #CatsOfFacebook #CoolCatClub #CatLover
19.01.2022 Interesting case of the week! *Warning Graphic Image attached* Sweet Scruffy was brought into our clinic last week with a quickly growing abscess on the side of his abdomen. ... On assessment, Dr Dave saw that the abscess had already burst and once the area had been cleared a surprise was left waiting for him! Poor Scruffy had found his way into the BBQ leftovers and had swallowed a toothpick whole. Thankfully for him the toothpick had worked its way out of his gastrointestinal system by itself and was trying to leave through the muscle and skin layers. Had it not, it may have caused a lot of pain and discomfort for Scruffy and may have led to an emergency exploratory laparotomy surgery to locate it within his gut and remove it. Dr Dave gently assisted it on the way out, and ensured that Scruffy was well looked after before sending him home for close monitoring. If you have curious snoots sniffing around your house take care with your leftover toothpicks, and skewers

16.01.2022 PSA Next Monday, 4th May, we will be having scheduled maintenance on our electricity network during our consulting hours. Unfortunately this may mean that we could be losing power for a short duration early Monday morning. Spirited Rafiki was in recently for his castration surgery, with his support teddy by his side His sweet face and loving disposition called for comfort cuddles with Dr Tabitha during his recovery. 12.01.2022 Charlie the Heeler One day, poor Charlie was vomiting, off his food and just looking really really sad Even though hes not terribly fond of vets, his dad brought him in to see us because something just wasnt quite right. After a thorough examination, Dr Beth took some abdominal x-rays and what did we see?... Any clever guesses to what Charlies eaten? Comment below!
12.01.2022 Some of you may remember this little inky blue budgie who brightened our reception with his charming chirps. After finding himself lost from his family, he called our hospital home for a few months. Dr. Beth excitedly took him into her care, and looked after him from his first assessment right through to the end of his treatment plan. When he arrived he was rather stressed, with a respiratory infection and had a crusty cere. The cere had a light pink colouration, leading ...us to believe he was a female. However after a few weeks of daily weigh ins, oral antibiotics, and an appropriate diet his cere began to clear up and under the crust we saw a beautiful blue start to develop! Meaning our little girl was actually a boy Here he is sitting comfortably on Dr. Beths shoulder, during a socialisation session. A lot of families came forward in the hopes that he was their missing budgie, however unfortunately he didnt match any of the descriptions or photos sent through. "Spirit" has since been rehomed with a lovely family who are completely enamoured with him. Looked after by a young daughter who has taken on his care and kept busy and happy with two budgie roommates.

10.01.2022 Our Hospital doors are officially unlocked and Archie is very excited to see you all again!! We are still asking for only one person per family to attend your vet visit as we are only allowed a maximum of 3 clients in the reception area at any one time.... You will also notice our cute little green spots on the floor in reception to remind everyone to please keep their paws at least 1.5 metres apart and practice social distancing at all times. We also kindly ask if you are feeling unwell to please remain at home. If you would prefer to wait in your car just give our nurses a call on 9548 3356 and let them know you have arrived Things are ever changing at the moment and we are very appreciative of everyones patience over the last few months in helping us keep our clients and our staff safe. We cant wait to see you!

08.01.2022 Midweek possum magic We were lucky enough to have a tiny visit from this teeny tiny pygmy possum. It was brought in by a member of public as it was found by itself without its parents. If juvenile possums are separated from their mother, they are at risk to a number of dangers; shock, stress, predators (such as domestic cats and dog) and starvation. ... If you find an orphaned juvenile or an injured adult and can safely contain it, we ask that you keep it in a quiet, dark, warm place and bring it along to us as soon as possible. The little one was given subcutaneous fluids, had small meals every couple of hours and was wrapped up nice and warm in a dark pouch. A wonderful WIRES career collected it after a few days stay in hospital and hopefully it will be due to be released back into its natural habitat again soon.
08.01.2022 Congratulations to our newest puppy graduates
