24.01.2022 We have just finished the fieldwork for 500 jobs today. This is since the start of Engage in January 2019. This quite a feat and a well deserved beer this afternoon. The 500 jobs doesn't include the ongoing projects that require weekly, fortnightly, monthly or quarterly fieldwork. Thank you team!!!

22.01.2022 Our signage went up on our front windows over the weekend! We took a quick photo of the window signage this afternoon. We think it looks amazing, thank you Lindy Agency 99 Design Co.

21.01.2022 For those that missed the cool start to the morning this picture is for you. Here is the view we had this morning collecting water samples near Marmong Point on Lake Macquarie. www.engage-es.com.au

20.01.2022 OH NO!!!!!! Education about asbestos and an up-to-date asbestos risk register may have saved this major asbestos incident. It is well worth your time finding out what asbestos products are at your residence!!! Call Engage today!

19.01.2022 At Service Stations you can see lots of access plates across the forecourt area. The most significant ones for protection of the Environment are the groundwater monitoring wells. When an underground storage tank leaks it can start off slow and not be picked up by the SIRA calculations for some time, in that time the petroleum products can start to plume on top of the water table moving down hydraulic gradient, the monitoring wells intercept the groundwater and our calibrated... interface probe can detect hydrocarbons within or sitting on top of the water table. The interface probe can be used to measure the thickness of the free phase hydrocarbon layer to the nearest mm. Secondly, during the six monthly routine inspections the groundwater is collected and inspected for obvious signs of contamination. Want to know what happens next? Contact Engage to find out. www.engage-es.com.au

17.01.2022 You will notice in our window as you drive past that our new banner is up temporarily, with new signage coming in the New Year. We wish you all a very Happy Holiday Season and a peaceful and prosperous New Year.

17.01.2022 In these uncertain times Engage Environmental Services is pleased it can now offer COVID screening swab testing for hard surfaces. The transmission of the virus can be through touching hard surfaces, COVID can survive on some hard surfaces for up to 3 days. Thorough cleaning is recommended to remove the virus. But how can you be sure it has been removed? High volume touch points are the preferred sampling areas, including front desks, sign-in areas, keyboards, phones, door h...andles and the list continues. We will discuss options for sampling and sampling locations with clients. This testing results can be used as an indicator of SARs-CoV at your workplace, which may trigger your COVID safe plan and testing of team members before they start to show signs of the virus. The testing will also add to your confidence that the cleaning and decontamination methods used in your working environment are effective. Contact Stephen Challinor on 0478 362 005 to arrange your testing today. www.engage-es.com.au

16.01.2022 Another iconic Newcastle building Engage has had the privelege to work on. www.engage-es.com.au Asbestos is throughout buildings built 1940-1980s (and beyond). Do you know where your Asbestos is and it's condition? Is it safe?

16.01.2022 Watch this space, something is coming...... - COVID protocols in place - - COVID safe training completed - - PPE ordered - ... - Swab analysis training updated / completed - - Discussions with NATA accredited laboratories - underway See more

15.01.2022 Another home having ACM boards removed. Boards removed, area vacuumed, about to be cleared, then sprayed with a PVA solution and work area to be inspected. Asbestos removal companies that keep a tidy work site make our jobs so much easier.

12.01.2022 We had a lovely serendipitous moment on a job site yesterday. This house we conducted a clearance inspection on following the successful removal of some internal asbestos sheeting was at one stage owned or possibly even built by one of our employees Great Grandfathers.

12.01.2022 Asbestos had many uses one of which was as insulation within doors, typically fire doors have serial numbers on a tab, BUT not always. This door is within a unit complex and contains an asbestos core with no identification tabs present. Engage can help identify if there is a hidden risk in your property or your investment. 12.01.2022 The Team here at Engage Environmental Services hope you can find a bit of time to relax over the long weekend.

11.01.2022 Drill rig operating on an old service station site, contamination investigation.

11.01.2022 One of the worst things for us to hear from builders is "It's ok, it is Villa Board so we don't need to worry". Why does this make us shudder? Well simply put, Villa Board can contain asbestos. It is one of the products that retained its name and molding through the transition from Asbestos to non-Asbestos products. ... There are certain aspects we look for in the field and if we are not 100% sure either way, a discreet sample is collected and sent for analysis to a NATA Accredited Laboratory. The results are received quickly and results conveyed to keep projects on track. A small price to pay to keep everyone safe!

09.01.2022 We can now add 2020 to the list of years asbestos products still being used and imported into the country. The asbestos is within the gaskets which is problematic to fix at a later date (after years of use). The gaskets in the future will have to be treated as friable asbestos as the gaskets breakdown. Expensive problem to fix that should not exist in 2020.

07.01.2022 The weather is fine again, here comes the backlog of outdoor projects requiring asbestos removal and asbestos clearance certificates. Another clean and tidy work site.

06.01.2022 The sights we see on job sites vary greatly in a week. The thing that links these 3 sites is Asbestos. The first is the view from a house over at Swansea Heads, the second a large industrial shed at Hexham and the third a development in Merewether.

05.01.2022 Please be aware of Scams going around especially at this time of year when you are pulled in a hundred directions! We have just received a message through our website from Joe Miller from DomainWorld regarding our Domain expiring and needing to pay ASAP via the link they provided. Stay cyber safe these holidays!

04.01.2022 This is what a licensed asbestos assessor (LAA) wants to see after asbestos containing wall sheeting and flooring has been removed and the clean-up completed. This is why asbestos removalists are licensed, they treat asbestos containing material with respect and know how to remove it safely. No nails, no mess, no asbestos dags or dust remain. Safe for the next phase of renovations. www.engage-es.com.au

03.01.2022 Engage has been given an opportunity to quote on the hazardous materials survey for this lovely heritage beauty. Even if we aren't successful in our bid the project will bring this property back to life.

03.01.2022 We have had several recent job sites where there were unexpected finds. Asbestos containing pipes are a common unexpected find during excavation on development sites. Engage Environmental Services can offer advice on the best way to deal with the unexpected find and outline management options. The first photo shows the remaining pipe in the ground and the second photo shows the removed pipe section which had been discovered as a broken pipe. The second photo is prior to being securely wrapped and removed from site by the Asbestos Removal company who was supervising the removal works.
