01.01.2022 My name is Peta Thompson, the face behind Burgeon life. Nutrition is my passion and I live this passion daily in nourishing my 2 young children and amazing husband with the food I prepare and low toxin life we all love living. Once upon a time, I did not live such a healthy life. Like most people, I lived a fast paced existence with excess sugar, toxins and antibiotics. For me, this lifestyle lead to my severe leaky gut, eczema, asthma, allergies and eventual anxiety which wa...s triggered when I fell pregnant in 2013. At the time, like so many people I come across, I didn't know that simple diet and behaviour modifications would be the solution to these common conditions and completely change my life to become anxiety free, and better able to cope with life's pressures. Throughout my journey towards heath and wellness, I discovered various social and cultural hurdles that our society insists on placing before us. However, I was determined to become well and after much research, I was able to uncover my keys to optimising health. As a result, I have made it my mission to help spread the word to others. Burgeon Life was born out of my own personal health journey in which I used food, movement and meditation to heal my body from the inside out. I now feel healthy, relaxed and energised with a new appreciation for life. Even the birth of my beautiful second child in 2017 was made easier. The pregnancy and recovery was far less stressful compared to my first, despite chasing a toddler this time! As an Exercise Physiologist, I already had a good appreciation for general health and wellbeing. However, my personal experience is what inspired me alter my focus to help others restore their health through nutrition and behaviour change. Burgeon life is all about sharing my passion for wholefood nutrition, mindfulness and meditation with others to help them achieve a thriving life, just as I was so fortunate to have done. The Burgeon Life Facebook and Instagram feeds share tips and cheats on preparing low sugar, wholesome snacks and meals for the whole family; with time saving hacks to make it all possible. You will also find useful information on various health topics, as well as stimulus related to mindful and active living.
