25.01.2022 My large paintings are made up of many small abstracts....

24.01.2022 Looking forward to being included in our new exciting project of capturing in paint a heritage landscape before it becomes irrevocably damaged .... forever!

22.01.2022 Time for something new! A new wave of art back to the community base from which all pure creativity wells forth! Back to the basics! Fresh thinking! New venues and shared spaces! Back to dreaming the arts into being once more as a place for each heart!

21.01.2022 EXHIBITON IS CLOSED TODAY - REOPENS TOMORROW MONDAY My apologies to anyone going to Peisley Street Gallery today, Sunday as the gallery is closed and only open by appointment.... there wasn't a way to convey this in 'events' or at least this old dinosaur didn't know how..... But the exhibition is open only for another week so I do hope you all try and get there before it closes next Saturday at 2 pm.... Thank you to all of you for your wonderful comments, feedback and going along to see it.... hopefully we will be able to have openings again one day as I really miss seeing you all and talking to you

21.01.2022 Oh to get back! Please open the borders SA!!

20.01.2022 Whilst my artworks look like realist paintings from a distance, it is when one gets up close that they discover they are in fact abstracts.... I use delicate and finely worked abstracts to create the details of my works.... they are very different from anything that you find elsewhere. Using my own styles that I have discovered over many years of painting, I challenge the viewer to lose interest once they find the various layers and tiny works contained within each painting! You can indeed cut them up and each square would make its own artwork! Heres a sample of one portion of a 1m x 1m work.... this portion is 15cm square.

20.01.2022 Gathering a few items together for Art at Work on the Central Coast! I will be there to show you how I create and share with you so I hope you come along and join me on the weekend! https://www.facebook.com/centralcoastartatwork

15.01.2022 #APOD The Structured Tails of Comet Neowise What is creating the structure in Comet NEOWISEs tails? Of the two tails evident, the blue ion tail on the left poi...nts directly away from the Sun and is pushed out by the flowing and charged solar wind. Structure in the ion tail comes from different rates of expelled blue-glowing ions from the comets nucleus, as well as the always complex and continually changing structure of our Suns wind. Most unusual for Comet C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE), though, is the wavy structure of its dust tail. This dust tail is pushed out by sunlight, but curves as heavier dust particles are better able to resist this light pressure and continue along a solar orbit. Comet NEOWISEs impressive dust-tail striations are not fully understood, as yet, but likely related to rotating streams of sun-reflecting grit liberated by ice melting on its 5-kilometer wide nucleus. The featured 40-image conglomerate, digitally enhanced, was captured three days ago through the dark skies of the Gobi Desert in Inner Mongolia, China. Comet NEOWISE will make it closest pass to the Earth tomorrow as it moves out from the Sun. The comet, already fading but still visible to the unaided eye, should fade more rapidly as it recedes from the Earth. Image Credit & Copyright: Zixuan Lin (Beijing Normal U.)

07.01.2022 Ah well - I have left my CCC studio behind after 10 years of having a place that was quiet, hard to find, and able to be left with paints and painting out ready for the next day or so.... CCC is under renovations and a new brigade is bringing in changes for a bigger, brighter CCC in the future.... but for me, the quiet solitude of a space is absolutely necessary for the sweaty part of painting.... so back to home once more .... ! Maybe there is another space waiting for me to find it?! I wonder.... hmmm....

07.01.2022 We have found a gallery to show the art of the Wild Women and the Wilderists during 2020/2021 at Mortdale in Sydney! So keep an eye out for our shows! We will bring our Arkaroola paintings and other wild places weve been to in a couple of shows! @buzzbar Currently on show is Joys work!
