24.01.2022 We are back! We hope everyone is feeling refreshed after this holiday season. 2020 was a difficult year for all and we did not get to acknowledge some amazing achievements within the organisation. So to kick start 2021, over the coming weeks we will be recognising all the hard work of our team. One of our directors, Kurt McRae celebrated his 40 years with ETC. In 1980 Kurt started his career as a junior and has since worked his way up through multiple positions within the com...pany. Today Kurt directly manages all Infrastructure, Urban Development and Specialist Lighting projects. Over the years Kurt has received many awards and accolades for his innovative and creative ideas. Most recently Kurt was acting principal for the Mindeerup Piazza project, which has won over 8 awards both nationally and internationally. Kurt is a member of the IES Western Australia and a previous IES Council member. Kurt has presented lighting technical papers and lectured at both UWA and Curtin University. We are very thankful for all of the hard work and dedication and all we can ask for is another 40 years! Well done Kurt, an achievement of a lifetime.

06.01.2022 Under the guidance of the MRA and the design lead by PLACE Laboratory Railway Square Midland has been transformed into a new civil heart providing a destination public space. The Square combines a unique and adaptable public space for recreation, relaxation and is provisioned to be a high performance entertainment and events venue. The square and services have been carefully designed to embrace the historic backdrop and industrial materials to showcase the historic precinct i...ncorporating rail furniture, bespoke poles and rail lines. The various rail lines have been designed to tell the story of the site and include a water line with linear misting and dynamic lighting that references the historic steam engines and movement of trains through the site. ETC designed and documented many unique and dynamic elements for this project including the colour changing linear rail lines with integrated water misting, projections with artwork Gobos, custom fire fly tree lighting and a bespoke pole design characterised from the railyard building columns complete with integrated events power and provision for CCTV. The lighting control system is pre programmed to a 365 day scheduler with ability to dimmer control all lighting for events and performances. Image reposted from @weefusa
