08.01.2022 Changes were made to the Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) Rules. The SDA Rules 2020 released in June, enables eligible NDIS participants to increase choice and control for who they wish to share their homes with and where they wish to live. It will also revitalise construction and supply of SDA properties, creating further diverse accommodation options for NDIS participants. 05.01.2022 The Housing Hub and Summer Foundation have prepared a report of the current supply of Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) in Australia. SDA is a form of housing that is specially designed to suit the needs of people with a disability who have extreme functional impairment or high support needs. There is a high demand for SDA with new housing being needed for an estimated 19,000 NDIS participants over the next ten years.
