Heres a bit about Reiki & my personal journey: I used Reiki to heal myself from endometriosis. My blood work was suggesting that I had tumors. I was scheduled to have surgery to take the left ovary for testing and to basically explore what was going on. I was released on pre-admissions day after two months of 4-6 self-Reiki sessions a week. Fell asleep to healing frequencies. Was still shitting my pants the entire time leading up but did my best to meditate and practice healing. Honestly had no solid belief at the time that I was making a shred of difference by doing all those things. It was all I felt I could do. Now that I know I can, I use Reiki all the time. Reiki is "energy healing". It recognises and honours that the human body - and the entire Universe! - is all inter-connected through energy. Light. Frequency. Vibration. Weve all "done Reiki" or "energy healing" on ourselves or someone else before without even realising it. Hugged someone because you want to make them feel better? That was Reiki. Kissed your childs bumped noggin? Reiki. Grabbed your own foot after stubbing your toe? What can I say? Its instinct. We want to make ourselves/them feel better and it usually does! Even if you dont always notice it at first. Reiki healers use this power of intention to invite Universal energy into the clients body. While healers believe in the intelligence of this energy, we become the channels for healing, ensuring that the energy being delivered to the client is cleansed. From there, the energy knows where to work in the clients body. Reiki healers will focus their hands over the seven Chakra energy centres of the body. Reiki "began" in the late 1800s when Japanese Christian Minister Dr Mikau Usui began his journey to rediscover the lost art of healing. He scoured the Bible, visited monasteries, learnt Chinese just to have access to more writings but all efforts came up short. He finally felt led to spend 21 days fasting atop Mt Kuri Yama where he would ask for the power to heal. On the 21st day, Usui received the Reiki symbols in a vivid vision of overwhelming light, colours and sensations. As he descended the mountain in excitement, he experienced three separate events in which he demonstrated this new healing ability. He served for free in the city of Kyoto for seven years before realising that the Gift of Reiki was being taken for granted. He went on to set up classes to teach Masters and Students, passing on the Reiki teachings to Dr Chujiro Hayashi. Usui passed away in 1926. Why Reiki? The first time I believed I was meant to heal, I was ten. I was growing up in a Christian home and pondering the spiritual gifts. I knew I didnt feel like I was about to speak in tongues any time soon. I wasnt having visions or meaningful dreams. But something about the definition of a healer got me. That was something I could be, with or without supernatural intervention. It lingered. I was the person everyone confided in. I nurtured lots of kids through babysitting, child care, being an aunty and teaching. I tried to be there for everybody. Making people smile and laugh. Making them feel heard and thought of. I wanted to be a nurse. A youth counsellor. A teacher. A mother. Fast forward cos Im tangent-ing. I went to a body-mind-spirit expo back in 2014. Id heard about Reiki but this was the first time Id had it done. Thousands upon thousands of people. Noisy as. 15 minutes and all he did was put his hands on my shoulders and I closed my eyes. No incence. No binaural beats. No candles. I was sat in the walk way with my eyes closed. They chatted amongst themselves (I thought theyd be focusing and concentrating). And meanwhile, I slipped away into Nirvana. Suddenly it was like someone forced my eyelids open and immediately set off a camera flash right in both my eyes. I ignored the first one. A few minutes later it happened again. I was way too relaxed to even respond. I asked afterwards whether anyone had taken photos or had there been lights flashing? Nothing. Only I had experienced that. The people walking past didnt bother me. The noises. The psychic yelling from the loudspeaker. I noticed it all when I opened my eyes but it was like I was doped up. The most relaxed Ive EVER been. I was attuned two years ago to Level 1 Reiki and this time, fell asleep on the table during my final cleanse. I couldnt recommend it more, which is why Im offering it. Even if you just come to relax and you dont believe a word of the Reiki stuff, Im almost ready to "open shop" and would love to offer a hour of chill space if youll let me be a weird hippy lady in the meantime Im setting up a room at home this month, but I purchased a portable table today so I can also make house calls Let me know

An article from the Journal of Evidence-Based Complimentary and Alternative Medicine published a paper detailing Reiki experimentation between 1998-2016, where David E. McManus, PhD, attempted to prove whether Reiki worked by comparing the results of Reiki healing to that of the test control and the results of the placebo healer. Every time, Reiki was found to have had a significantly more substantial effect on the subject than the other test variables! They literally proved Reiki with science!!
