24.01.2022 The weekend is a great time to review and set new goals. Sometimes smaller goals in shorter timeframes build momentum because they feel attainable and less overwhelming. Reflect on what's working right now and what needs to work better?... How can you ramp up what's working and tweak what needs improving? What are some goals that you'd love to hit in the next 30 days? #stimulus #covid19 #smallbusiness #smallbusinesssupport #businessstrategy #economicrecovery

23.01.2022 REVIEW THE QUARTER As the Sep quarter draws to close, it’s a great opportunity to revisit all existing obligations, expenses as well as analysing cash-flow and budgets for the Dec quarter. Call any permanent creditors and vendors to discuss options for a new deal or terms.... Are there expenses that can be eliminated or reduced altogether? Every adjustment adds up, especially if you multiply it into the future. The phone calls, analysis and conversations you don’t have cost money, so be prudent in assessing your financials. Even accessing more funds, refinancing or otherwise can be a confidence play for extra security. If you have any questions, please reach out. #stimulus #covid19 #economicstimulus #support #smallbusiness #government #jobkeeper

23.01.2022 Are you taking fast action? One of the best strategies to combat economic recovery is rapid implementation. If you see a potential challenge deal with it quickly!... For example, picking up the phone to a creditor or vendor and explaining the situation if you need some flexibility. Start negotiating early on any areas you might need to address so you can send some goodwill in advance, showing the other party your intention is to deliver. Make a list of anything that could be a short-term issue and get onto before it's a problem and you'll fair so much better. Do you agree? #stimulus #covid19 #smallbusiness #smallbusinesssupport #businessstrategy #economicrecovery

21.01.2022 As of today, (28th of Sep), changes to JobKeeper & JobSeeker take effect. There is now a two-tiered system based on pre-COVID hours. This includes $1200 a fortnight for workers on 20+ hours for those businesses who are eligible. ... Then $750 a fortnight for workers on fewer than 20 hours. The JobSeeker supplement reduces to $250. Recipients are also able to earn up to $300 a fortnight and must look for up to 8 jobs a month and accept any offer of suitable work. These reduced payments will naturally have an immediate impact on businesses relying on the extra $300 a fortnight. Ensure all financials are up to date to reset your budget and make informed decisions. #stimulus #covid19 #economicstimulus #support #smallbusiness #government #jobkeeper

20.01.2022 Is your business visible? Staying front of mind is one of the most important elements to become the "go-to" option over a competitor. What strategies are you using to remind the clients, prospects and the marketplace that you exist?... Do you have a web and social media presence? Or an offline presence that's visible if you have a physical location. Imagine the difference it will make to your sales by simply being on people's radar more frequently. Sometimes just reminding them you're there is enough for them to make a purchase. Without the reminder, the idea to take up that product or service may have never crossed their mind at the moment. Create a strategy to become more visible and you'll have more opportunities to generate sales. #smallbusiness #smallbusinesssupport #businesstrategy

19.01.2022 Turning hardships into assets... As states close in on 12 months since the first round of restrictions and lockdown took place, several testing challenges have taken place. Almost a year after, reflecting on some of these changes, what lessons/pivots have turned into assets?... (For example, new ways of operating, opportunities, shifts for the future, preparation and so on). In hindsight, sometimes setbacks can end up being great teachers. So wherever you can look for the gift in the experience. #covid19 #lockdown #restrictions #victoria

18.01.2022 Don’t forget to continually review all your existing financial obligations with creditors and vendors. There’s never been a better time to broker new terms. Save money on on-going commitments, long-term commitments can quickly add up and it’s all profit.... Small adjustments multiplied by 12 months or more end up being significant. If you believe it’s possible to access more funds, negotiate new terms and layer more financial security to your business and want some help unlocking it all Reach out for support. #stimulus #covid19 #economicstimulus #support #smallbusiness #government #jobkeeper

18.01.2022 Have you explored opportunities to establish a safety net for your business? Navigating downturn is extremely stressful, especially without cash reserves. Temporary changes to insolvency laws don’t change the pressure of trading from this unfortunate position.... There are additional avenues to access capital beyond the traditional options. Some of our clients have accessed capital purely for peace of mind (without the intention to use the funds). This buffer creates the headspace and security to make decisions and keep their team in a positive frame of mind. Whilst this isn’t possible for everyone, it may make a big psychological difference in some cases. #stimulus #covid19 #economicstimulus #support #smallbusiness #government #jobkeeper

18.01.2022 Last week we shared a hotlist for business owners that need or want additional economic support Given several Victorian businesses will be forced to remain closed or restricted for several weeks and even months We thought it was appropriate to share it again:... #1 Set "Google Alerts" for grants, Jobkeeper and Jobseeker news so you can be one of the first to act on new opportunities. #2 Renegotiate terms with existing creditors and vendors (business & personal). #3 Track month on month revenue against the previous year, a downturn can change your eligibility. #4 Explore instant asset write-offs of up to $150,000 until December 31st if you’re in a position to do so. #5 Consider unsecured credit initiatives as backup funding (just in case) as many carry no repayments for 6 months. #6 Seek counsel with experts to make sure you’ve exhausted all existing stimulus vehicles. #7 Regularly check the local government's website, watch press conferences to access the latest information on-demand. 14.01.2022 $110 BILLION This is the projected economic fallout for Central Melbourne from COVID-19 including $23 billion in 2020 alone. It also is likely to come with some 79,000 fewer jobs.... The recovery is expected to be slow and take 5 years with retail, accommodation, tourism, hospitality and education the hardest hit. Armed with this information it’s important to be proactive if you predict future financial pain or downturn. 14.01.2022 Could rising mortgage debt become a problem? Sky-rocketing house prices and cheap access to cash may present future challenges. Although interest rates aren't likely to be impacted any time soon when the cost of borrowing increases it creates extra money households may continually have to find on the climb up.... This will leave lower and fixed-income households locked into repaying borrowings much longer than anticipated based on the current day's rates. If there is a correction in the property market or buyers overpay, it'll take a while to claw back the equity. What are your thoughts on the two events simultaneously taking place (increasing property prices and low-interest rates)? Is there going to be issues down the road? #debt #mortgages #economy #property #lending

13.01.2022 More than 1/3 Aussie businesses will struggle to meet financial commitments over the next three months. With the ABS reporting that 35% find themselves in this category. There’s also been a reduction in businesses entering voluntary administration presumably due to the temporary measures in place.... This means that many businesses are barely holding on with the impact is likely to surface down the track. It’s important to look at trends, data and stay abreast of all the new initiatives. Create Google Alerts for key information so you are equipped to make better decisions. #stimulus #covid19 #economicstimulus #support #smallbusiness #government #jobkeeper

10.01.2022 Job Keeper is over! What impact does this have on your business? Hopefully, you've been proactive in recent months preparing for the end of the program.... Now is a great time to review all your financial obligations, business strategies and see what opportunities exist. For example, negotiating new terms with vendors to keep cashflow positive, creating a follow-up system for all debtors, consider taking larger payments upfront to cover costs and explore which lending institutions might have a viable offer (if you need access to capital). Think of ways to attract new clients (marketing strategies, partnerships, promotions, referrals), increase the average client spend (add more value, packages, up-sells) or increase the client purchase frequency (better communications systems, subscription or re-order models etc). Now is a great time to seek help from other business owners or mentors on how to prosper moving forward, check in if you need support. #jobkeeper #stimulus #economy

08.01.2022 As we venture into a new quarter, how well do you know your numbers? Having up to date data makes the business decision-making process so much more effective. Spending money becomes a calculated investment as opposed to hoping it'll have an impact.... The same applies to saving money and keeping reserves available to navigate the future. Use numbers to see where the gaps are and focus attention on incrementally improving these areas. If you're not sure how to interpret the figures, sit down with your accountant and learn. This process will allow you to understand the health of the business moving forward. Don't fly blind, use financials as the dashboard to guide the company forward. #smallbusiness #smallbusinesssupport #businesstrategy

08.01.2022 Accessing credit is set to become easier for Aussies. Treasurer Josh Frydenberg is looking to simplify bank lending rules to free up credit and stimulate the economy. Part of this is endeavouring to ease the regulations, costs and the time consumers and small businesses face when seeking credit.... Such a step will assist in the economic recovery process. With interest rates at record lows and likely to remain low for some time, it’s prudent to reduce the difficulties of obtaining loans to increase spending where feasible. Keep your eye on this one! #stimulus #covid19 #economicstimulus #support #smallbusiness #government #jobkeeper

08.01.2022 Mastermind your strategic issues! Ever had a business or personal challenge that you can't seem to solve? Why not brainstorm solutions with a group of people on the same journey.... Chances are they've either been through a similar event and can look at the situation detached from the result, allowing the answers to come clearly. Do you ever feel like solving other people's problems is a breeze, yet struggle with yours? This experience is typical because you're invested both emotionally and often economically in the process. Someone who isn't a stakeholder can look at the scenario objectively with these two variables. Next time you're stuck with a strategic issue, try masterminding solutions with a small group of people you respect. #smallbusiness #smallbusinesssupport #businesstrategy

07.01.2022 This time next week (28th of September) changes to JobKeeper and JobSeeker will take effect. The fortnightly payment moves to two-tiers based on pre-COVID hours. 06.01.2022 Spending will come before reining in the deficit. The Treasurer has vowed that calls to rein in growing debt will not be made until unemployment falls well below 6%. This may breathe some positivity into the mindset of Aussies even though the deficit is rapidly expanding.... Getting Australian’s back to work is the primary focus. Which is news the majority of Australian’s impacted by the events of 2020 want to hear. #stimulus #covid19 #economicstimulus #support #smallbusiness #government #jobkeeper

02.01.2022 The end of key stimulus programs does not mean the end of stimulus schemes altogether... Google is your friend when comes to research.... Every state has their own exclusive stimulus programs that have different eligibility.
