25.01.2022 Ensemble Françaix had a fabulous morning workshopping brand new oboe-bassoon-piano works by Sam McLean, Zinia Chan and Travers Eira at Melbourne Conservatorium. Looking forward to premiering them on Wednesday, and we love the new spaces at the Ian Potter Southbank Centre!

24.01.2022 We love Beethoven and we love our guests who join us. Thanks to Rachel Shaw and Paul Dean for their awesomeness. Watch this space as many wondering Australian musicians and even maybe some overseas ones join us to celebrate Beethovens 250th Birthday. Most importantly everyone stay safe. Love from EF, Nicholas Young, Emmanuel Cassimatis and Matthew Kneale

22.01.2022 Tempo Rubato is a live classical music venue recently opened in the backstreets of Brunswick, with a 102 key Stuart & Sons piano, and a bar freshly stocked with whiskey and mulled wine. All of the profits from Tempo Rubato go to Piano Project, providing piano lessons for children who have recently arrived in Australia as refugees. Ensemble Françaix are honoured to be part of the Tempo Rubato cause, and we look forward to making music in this wonderful space on Sunday afternoon! https://www.temporubato.com.au//ensemble-franaix-nicholas-

18.01.2022 Wow it was an epic semi final and EF is so glad to be performing in the QICMC grand final. It is with great joy that we will be sharing the music of two wonderful composers Jean Françaix who we named the group after and Andre Previn, who passed away earlier this year. What a fitting tribute to play his wonderful trio for oboe bassoon and piano on this special occasion. Join us at Con Theatre on the 19th of July (tomorrow) at 7.30pm for the finals if you are around Brisbane.

10.01.2022 Hi everyone! This is the wonderful 3rd Movement of the Beethoven Piano Winds in Eb Major Op. 16. During these difficult times, we firmly believe that the music should never stop. May 2020 marks Beethovens 250th Birthday, so please help us celebrate one of the most fundamental composers of all time courtesy of us, Ensemble Françaix, in collaboration with the wonderful Lloyd Vant Hoff (Clarinet) and Rachel Shaw (Horn) of Arcadia Winds. Be sure to like and subscribe to our page so you can remain up to date on all our endeavours in the future. Happy listening!

10.01.2022 Please join us on this very important and special occasion . As our core member Matthew has stated, we cant thank our supporters and sponsors enough and we hope to continue bringing Australia and the world the best wind chamber music with our fellow Arcadias, who performed the first ever concert on this platform. Wind chamber music is alive and kicking and we will always strive to promote the double reeds especially given how wonderful they are in chamber music with a piano. Tickets are only $24.

09.01.2022 We are proud of our work over several years promoting music-making and composition for the double-reeded piano trio, and are excited by the new tours and collaborations that will be made possible as winners of the Queensland International Chamber Music Competition. Thank you Ensemble Q for the opportunity to participate, and congratulations to co-winners Partridge String Quartet, Peoples Choice winners CONCEPT and Ash Quartet for a quality concert and tight contest!

08.01.2022 Ensemble Françaix have big things planned for 2020, but we look forward to starting the year by joining in the Bushfire Appeal Concert organised by the fantastic Trio Anima Mundi. We hope you can join us in supporting a mammoth recovery effort!

06.01.2022 The giant of American composition, conducting and pianism André Previn passed away earlier this year. We are honoured to celebrate his legacy at the Queensland International Chamber Music Competition Grand Finals with a complete performance of his Trio for double reeds and piano, which we have loved and performed since our first recital series in 2017.
