14.01.2022 How beautiful are these guys!!!
10.01.2022 I really just can’t get over how cool these guys are.. I mean for a start they look like leaves, then the same species of butterfly has different external patterns so that they look like different types of leaves inc mottling that makes them look like an old leaf that is starting to decompose....Then you take into account these little guys came from Puli Formosa, July 1961, that makes them almost 60 years old. What’s also really interesting is that there was a massive trade ...in butteries coming from this area during the 50,60 and 70s. These butterflies would have been part of that. This trade dried up by the 80s with habitat destruction severely effecting butterfly resources in the region. These guys were unfortunately captured at a time when the need for conversation wasn’t recognized. Most butterflies and insects that are traded as specimens now days are farmed so that there is no longer a threat to the local populations. The butterfly/insect farms help to provide local communities with an income and create a surplus supply so poaching is no longer needed from the wild. It’s been extremely interesting learning about these butterflies and their history. These particular specimens came from a collection in France that were purchased from the widow of a great butterfly collector, who extensively collected during the late 50s and early 60s. I have hydrated and prepared these butterflies the same way I would process any others. I’m amazed by the quality and and how well preserved they are. The collection I have photographed here will go in my personal collection. I have more stocks of these so I’ll over time be putting pieces together that will be for sale and of course I’m happy to take custom orders. Like,share,enjoy....if you look closely in some of the videos I’ve previously shared you’ll be able to see these amazing little creatures in their natural environment.
10.01.2022 A little insect humor
09.01.2022 Could easily be a collection of autumn leaves it certainly will be a treat looking at these guys on the inside. Check out the video that follows if you want to be dazzled by the incredible beauty of nature!!
09.01.2022 Wow it really is all about the leaf butterflies today!!! I received this incredible box of butterflies. Antique butterflies collected back in the 1950s and 60s still in their original packaging. This one is very similar to the species if butterfly from the video. I look forward to creating something extra special with these. These butterflies will be up for grabs tho I have limited stock so if you wish to have a special piece created just for you with these rare antique butterflies please pm me for more details
09.01.2022 Pink toed tarantula from Peru these guys are really fascinating and very hairy. They have a pink tinge to the tips of their fur This guy is not the largest specimen however he’s a really nice example of this species...oh and I’ve set him fangs out to create a little more interest.. If your interested in adding this guy to your collection please send me a PM...... With the covid situation spiders are becoming a little harder to come by and currently this species is out of stock with my supplier.

06.01.2022 Rainbow Grasshoppers taking to flight This was a beautiful fun piece to put together. I love bringing them back to life using natural materials. It contains natural dried wood, mushrooms and moss
04.01.2022 *****Warning***** please don’t look at the following if you have any phobias if bugs or spiders!!!! This has to be the creepiest I’ve done by far. I’ve included a ruler so you can get a gauge on just how large this one is. Took a long time to hydrate however it was relatively easy to spread. It’s going to take a while to set so LUCKY ME! I get to enjoy it while it adorns my fireplace drying
03.01.2022 My god who would have thought their wings were so powerful
01.01.2022 They really are amazing!!!
