16.01.2022 After having dug to a depth of 10 feet last year, British scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 200 years and came to the conclusion that their anc...estors already had a telephone network more than 150 years ago. Not to be outdone by the British, in the weeks that followed, an American archaeologist dug to a depth of 20 feet, and shortly after, a story published in the New York Times: "American archaeologists, finding traces of 250-year-old copper wire, have concluded that their ancestors already had an advanced high-tech communications network 50 years earlier than the British". One week later, Australia's Northern Territory Times, reported the following: "After digging as deep as 30 feet in his backyard in Tennant Creek, Northern Territory, aboriginal Billi Bunji, a self-taught archaeologist, reported that he found absolutely fuck-all. Billi has therefore concluded that 250 years ago, Australia had already gone wireless..." Makes me feel bloody proud to be Australian!

08.01.2022 MANAGEMENT OF MURRAY-DARLING UNDER THE MICROSCOPE The first public hearing of the Senate Select Committee into the Multi-Jurisdictional Management and Execution... of the Murray-Darling Basin Plan, secured by Centre Alliance, will be held in Canberra tomorrow. It is beyond obvious that there are serious problems with the multi-jurisdictional manner in which the Murray-Darling System in being purportedly managed. With five states, all with different rules, and the Federal Government attempting to manage the Plan, it is not clear who is responsible for what, or what the negative effects of different rules across each state are. The Murray-Darling is the nation’s food bowl, a multibillion dollar hub of economic activity and our most important national river system. Communities across the country are suffering because of the multi-jurisdictional nature of the Plan and the maladministration across levels of Government. These communities deserve answers and a solution. Centre Alliance’s inquiry aims to deliver one. Here’s a heartbreaking clip that looks at some of the devastating issues facing those along the River.
