18.01.2022 Our work leads us to many locations in search of threatened species. But what we weren’t prepared for was for this pair of Square-tailed Kite (listed as a threatened species under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016) not only showing up in our own little patch of coastal forest but they have spent the last 6 days building a nest about 50 metres from our office! Thanks to one of our staff Alex, for the images.

17.01.2022 Yes, we are a registered COVID safe business! And it’s not too hard to maintain social distancing during our field surveys. Take Alex for example during the placement of tiles for an upcoming Striped Legless Lizard survey.

15.01.2022 We have loved the flowering event of Rosewood (Alectryon oleifolius) this year in parts of western NSW. With no actual petals, they make for a very interesting sight!

09.01.2022 The Scully Effect is real! In 2018, 21st Century Fox tasked the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media, a non-profit research organisation, with finding out whether there was any hard truth to the phenomenon. The researchers surveyed more than 2,000 women to examine what they thought about STEM and how they perceived Scully.... "Among the women who are familiar with the character, 50 per cent say Scully increased their interest in STEM [and] 43 per cent say that they considered working in STEM because of her," says Madeline Di Nonno, the institute's CEO.

07.01.2022 Incredible sights around Tathra at the moment!

07.01.2022 Flash back to some biodiversity surveys a few years ago was this absolute beauty, the Rose-crowned fruit dove. This species is listed as a threatened species under the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Act. We will never forget meeting this male.

06.01.2022 Did you know that EnviroKey works very closely with Heritage Specialists that can help you with your Aboriginal Cutlural Heritage and Historic Heritage Assessments.

04.01.2022 Our habitat enhancement project is progressing well. The idea is to turn a piece of existing native vegetation in an urban setting and cram it full of resources ie., food, water and shelter. This week, a small pond was installed. We focussed on frog friendly plants like grasses including Lomandra as well as some aquatic plants in the pond itself. We also added some small flowering shrubs (Grevillea, Callistemon) behind the pond. These will attract insects for frog food

03.01.2022 We are very proud to have prepared the environmental assessment for the first rail trail in NSW

01.01.2022 Some of our ecology team recently witnessed thousands of budgies doing what we call Murmation. This phenomena comes about by individuals following and mimicking the birds around them. This large flock was feeding on seeding grasses along the Silver City Highway between Broken Hill and Coombah Roadhouse.
