10.01.2022 #flashbackfriday to post work antics by @tharris78

10.01.2022 The level of excitment was pretty high on Monday. After lots of planning and waiting for good weather, we finally got to do the heli drop at Morialta. The job is to remove 2 old permapine bordwalks above ther creek that were damaged by heavy rains in 2015 and install new boardwalks from FRP. This is a challenging location to work and the only safe way to deliver the materials was to use a helicopter. Huge thanks to Hamish from Aerotech and of course DEW... Photos by my bro at Albie design See more

10.01.2022 @kaneophoto loves to party on the trails

10.01.2022 The good people at DEWNR just keep on giving. This would be an awesome opportunity to shake hands with the people who work so hard behind the scenes to deliver so many great trail networks.

09.01.2022 We love a bit of time lapse, almost as much as we love Belair NP hidden valley trail. Little reroute around another fallen tree.

09.01.2022 See ya later winter. @kaneophoto

09.01.2022 Making the most of the good weather. #trailbuilding #etstrails

08.01.2022 Little entry statement to the Stueb trail in Cleland. We are so stoked with the way this trail is turning out, and couldn't be happier with the crew. Thanks again to @nationalparkssa

04.01.2022 Later in the year we will be building 300m2 of elevated boardwalks on the Mt lofty summit trail. For anyone that is interested, this is called micropiling where a heavy wall steel casing is grouted 1 metre into the bedrock. This hole is 5m deep. We have 102 to do.

04.01.2022 The Mount Lofty Summit hike boardwalk is essentially complete. Waiting on the construction of the handrails and a few other bits and pieces. A few statistics about the construction: 27 tonnes of FRP material, with each of the large beams weighing 100kg, around 5000 bolts, 5 hours of helicopter time to sling the loads in, a box full of dead power tools and 1000 hours of man time for this section of the project. I'm so lucky to be supported by such a hardworking and passionate crew.

03.01.2022 Reroute to the southern side of Gunners Run finally underway. This is a heavy duty project with 60 tonne of rock going in.

03.01.2022 Details for this different type of dig day! We can guarantee that this will be rewarding for the years to come. These trees will (eventually) provide shade, tr...ail anchors and reduce the amount of grasses, mustard weed, wild fennel, scabiosa and thistle that grow across the trails. DEW have been busy on site doing some preparation work and will help out with follow up weed monitoring after the planting. Attached are some maps of the intended areas. We'll pick and choose on the day. A description of the "Veg type" legend on the attached aerials... (this will make more sense following the briefing on the day) 1 = Mix of all plants, prioritise placement of future prominent gums, then smaller trees and lastly shrubs 2 = Priority for low trees, shrubs and ground cover (can place 1 or 2 grey box) 3 = Low shrubs and ground cover only NB - in all areas, be mindful of future sight lines, particularly on shared trails and/or where visibility through a corner is needed.

02.01.2022 Taking time to stop and smell the lichen while @kaneophoto weaves his magic on the digger

02.01.2022 Gunners run reroute coming along nicely, some awesome stone work by Kane, Alex and Tony. Respect the trail closures. It will be open at the end of next week!
