24.01.2022 DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN..........Arrrrrrrrrrrgh Bone crunching gorse mulching!
20.01.2022 We are so happy to announce that we’ve just organised a SECOND Wildlife for Wine planting day, as the first was such a success + is booked out! The Wildlife for... Wine Planting Day is going to bring together the MVBP, Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges Natural Resources Management Board and Shingleback & Red Knot Wine on June 16th for another incredible day. We need YOUR help to plant over 10,000 native insectary plants to benefit the vineyard by attracting beneficial bugs and pollinators to help naturally control pests (ecosystem services). All works planned aim to compliment the vineyard operation by supporting habitat for beneficial insects and insectivorous bird and micro-bat species. Please, be a part of your community and make a real difference now, and for future generations. The day will commence with a traditional Kaurna welcome and Smoking Ceremony. This is a family friendly and FREE event, and morning tea, snacks and lunch are provided. See the event and RSVP here - it is essential that you RSVP as numbers are capped for safety and organisational reasons: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/wildlife-for-wine-planting-
20.01.2022 Happy Trails! Keeping the Vegetation looking great!
17.01.2022 At the end of Day 2 of gorse mulching, Jane checked out some of the areas that had been uncovered. Until we saw these cleared patches we had no idea of the size... of the gorse infestation, nor how quickly the grooming machines could reduce so much gorse to chips. Toward the end of this video Jane shows some of the gorse to be tackled on day 3 on the other side. If your gorse is out of hand, you will be amazed by how fast a contractor with a grooming machine will restore the balance.
17.01.2022 Could these tiny Australians be the secret to pest eradication?
14.01.2022 Great results day two!
13.01.2022 The contractor and his machines returned to sort out some blackberry. Immense stands of blackberry, which this morning were 1.8 metres high, now crunch gently u...nderfoot right up to the edge of the creek. This mornings blackberry mulching was done by the smaller machine, the remote control one. If you're interested in making your own blackberry mulch this Christmas, and who isn't, we can assure you that the grooming machines are very, very effective. NRM staff are a good first port of call to discuss weed control options.

07.01.2022 Rain, Hail or Shine!! (but not Fire Ban days)
06.01.2022 Great work Chris!
04.01.2022 It's now been over 4 months since the Gorse Grazer tackled some massive old growth gorse and blackberry. Thanks to the dry summer/autumn the stumps are still st...ruggling to make a comeback. A few gorse seedlings have sprung up in the last week at a few of the wetter sites. The blackberry patches are sprouting up in the wetter spots along the creek, but easily accessible for follow up control. See more
04.01.2022 A machine which can munch its way through dense thickets of a prickly pest plant, was the focus of a workshop in Willow Creek on the Fleurieu Peninsula. When Br...ad and Jane bought this property 2 years ago they inherited a vast Gorse infestation, so they contacted #AMLR for help. Working with #AMLR, Brad and Jane now have a plan to manage extensive areas of woody weeds across their 80 hectares. Part of the plan included #AMLR using its incentive program to help fund this mechanical mulcher to reduce large patches of Gorse to mulch, which makes it easier for ongoing control. Brad’s excited by the way this mulcher has opened up lots of their land, making it a great tool for reclaiming productive land and preventing the spread of this weed. Issues with weeds on your rural land in the #AMLR region? Find out how we can help: https://bit.ly/2Qv4qlM Take a look at this Facebook page for videos of this mulcher in action: https://www.facebook.com/groups/463687467463455/ See more
03.01.2022 These machines also have a gentle side. Check out the track through the native bracken ferns, between patches of gorse. This track was left by the big bobcat looking machine, obviously when it's mulcher was not cranking
03.01.2022 Awesome work Chris Roach!!
03.01.2022 Ready to roll!!
01.01.2022 Excellent results! Loved working with you Brad and Jane.
