25.01.2022 #turtlefact Did you know that that there are 7 species of marine turtles and 6 can be found in Australia! Unfortunately many species including; Green Turtles, Loggerheads (in picture) and Endangered Leatherback Turtles are victims of the QLD Shark Controll, and NSW Bather Protection Programs on Australian East Coast. Share this today and spread the word about the Longest Marine Cull in the World! #shellebrate
23.01.2022 Every Scuba Divers dream is to see the Galapagos like this. A place of abundance, thanks to marine protections. Large scale commercial fishing is currently destroying this area, for the short term gain of #sharkfin to go in soup There’s many studies about how sharks are #worthmorealive, yet short sightedness and greed show no bounds. ... Check out @sosgalapagos for more.
23.01.2022 On Friday, we were informed of a live Tiger Shark on a drumline at North Peregian. That you to Sea Shepherd Australia who were able to get there to document it. Despite being told, Fisheries Queensland decided not to attend that day to kill it humanely, but rather to let it die slowly overnight. This is over 13,100 Tiger Sharks killed in the @queensland cull now, and counting... Words from: Apex Harmony Campaign - Sea Shepherd Global... Today is #WorldAnimalDay and this is not the news we wanted to be sharing. On Friday, a tiger shark was hooked on a drumline on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. The shark was reported to the Queensland Shark Control Program who left the shark to die slowly overnight. It is entirely possible to use non-lethal technologies such as drones to monitor and inform rather than kill and cull. Our Apex Harmony campaign continues its work to bring transparency to the brutality and pointlessness of the Queensland Shark Control Program. footage: Animal Liberation Queensland Australian Marine Conservation Society Humane Society International Australia #OpApexHarmony #TigerShark #NoSharkCull
23.01.2022 UPDATE: A release was performed yesterday by MART. Hook and chain remain lodged in the whale according to reports. BREAKING FROM ABC Brisbane Could be a drum line, not a net, by the looks. Will keep you posted on developments. ... #NoSharkCull #NetsOutNow #BeAnEnvoy

22.01.2022 Alright Envoy’s, the whale entanglements are about to start again THICK AND FAST! We saw the first one of their journey south on Sunday, and it isn’t going to slow down. TODAY AND TOMORROW (Tue-Wed), let’s have another push of dial-in direct action. Time to start blowing up Minister Furner’s phones again. Maybe this time he will take action. Details:... Qld Minister for Fisheries: The Hon Mark Furner Phone: (07) 3719 7420 Script (feel free to put this in your own words): Hello, Thank you for taking my call, my name is (insert). I’d like to leave a message for the Minister about the whales being caught drumlines and in shark nets. You stated in June that a decision was ‘imminent’ about removing shark nets to reduce the incidence of whale entanglement and improve bather safety with scientifically monitored trials. It’s now August, and still, nothing has been announced. Lethal drum lines and shark nets need to be removed for the whale season at the very least, and replaced with effective non-lethal alternatives. This weekend on Stradbroke Island, Whale entanglements have started as they head south again. Keeping our whales safe will help Queensland’s tourism industry which is struggling right now under COVID. Drowning whales don’t look good on international news. Please stop embarrassing Queensland. Thank you for taking my call. ###ENDS### #nosharkcull #netsoutnow Jump on over to the Facebook event to engage with others taking action! https://www.facebook.com/events/337925167248130/
21.01.2022 IMPORTANT Hawaiian cultural advice... Modern scientific advice... ... It all aligns pretty much perfectly. Given the almost unanimous agreenace around environmental conditions that lead to the vast majority of shark bites, perhaps it’s time we started teaching this knowledge to the public, at scale? If we are serious about avoiding shark bites, that is...
20.01.2022 OBTAINED VIA FOI Who can identify this species of Hammerhead, killed in the NSW shark nets? Bonus points for its conservation status...

13.01.2022 This dead Dugong is another Shark Net victim from this week. It was found dead in a net, taken out to sea, chain wrapped around its tail to sink it, and dumped by the shark net contractor. Usually they are cut open or gutted, to make sure they don’t re-float. In this instance, it wasn’t, so it bloated with gasses created by decomposition, floated back to the surface, and got washed into shore. ... If that hadn’t happened, we’d never have seen this image, and this Dugong would be just another line of data on the spreadsheet of by-catch (which is tens of thousands of lines, by the way). 12.01.2022 IMPORTANT PSA: We have been reliably informed there is a live Shark caught on Drumlines at Peregian Beach (North). Do not Surf! Do not Swim! ... This hooked shark will be an attractant for larger predators. Fisheries have been advised, but will not attend until tomorrow. They will kill the shark and remove it. This is standard practice for any target species caught. Please share within community groups as any animal caught on/in Shark Control Program equipment is known to attract large sharks.
11.01.2022 BREAKING: Waiting on further confirmation, but looks like history is repeating itself within the week - another whale entangled and caught in another culling drumline on Stradbroke Island. We will keep you posted.

10.01.2022 This is #SharkWeek in Australia. Slap this on a tourism poster @queensland... Targeted culling of protected species in the name of ‘safety’, with no formal approval or permit. ... The kicker... it doesn’t make any positive impact on human safety. Just pointless killing. #ThisIsQueensland #SharkWeek #sharkweek2020
10.01.2022 We are many decades behind the rest of the world when it comes to our shark cull, as acknowledged in the 2017 Senate Inquiry on Shark Mitigation.
09.01.2022 CAST ANNOUNCEMENT: Surfers are such an important voice in the shark mitigation debate, so we are beyond stoked to have the most successful female surfer of all time, Officer of the Order of Australia, and Chairperson of Surfing Australia, share her thoughts and experiences in our doco. Welcome to the cast Layne Beachley!!! Our time shooting with Layne left our crew’s jaws on the floor. She was so warm, welcoming, humble, open, honest, passionate and inspiring. You just want t...o be around her more, and be exposed to more of that positivity. We could easily make a doco just about her life and career! We can't wait to share her voice on this important topic of shark mitigation, and deep dive into coexisting vs culling with her. THANKS AND WELCOME Layne Beachley!
05.01.2022 Humpback Whales are going to start heading south past our netted beaches again soon. How many entanglements or drownings are we going to see before @qldlabor do something proactive? #NetsOutNow #thisisqueensland
05.01.2022 OBTAINED UNDER FOI We received our Freedom of Information request back for NSW DPI Fisheries catch photos relating to all 2019 shark netting activities. There are hundreds that we will slowly start sharing with you. ... Here’s the first one, one of the astonishing amount of bycatch shown in the photos we received. All for a false sense of security at our beaches. #nosharkcull #netsoutnow #worldmantaday
04.01.2022 We have FINALLY received our Freedom of Information request back for catch/by-catch images for 2019 NSW Shark Net operations. Stay tuned. #nosharkcull #netsoutnow

02.01.2022 We have not reduced bites. We have reduced fatalities. Why? The amazing work of Surf Life Savers and First Responders at attending to bite victims... Not because of shark nets and the politicians that put them there. Who thinks politicians should stop hogging credit from those that actually save lives of beach-goers? #beanenvoy #stopthecull #shark #sharks #sharkweek #thisisqueensland #visitnsw #lovensw #australia #holidayherethisyear #NetsOutNow
01.01.2022 Surfers, you have a huge voice in the shark culling debate. If you are against the culling of sharks for a false sense of security, it’s time to speak out against these pointless placebo programs, and speak up for real protection for yourself and your friends. Your voice matters. ... Check out the Facts page of our website if you want to know more about why these current programs don’t work and the harm they cause. In our film you can also learn about the better, provenly effective options our Government could and should be using. : Dendy Darma #beanenvoy #stopthecull #shark #sharks #sharkweek #thisisqueensland #visitnsw #lovensw #australia #holidayherethisyear #NetsOutNow #surfing #surfer #surf
