25.01.2022 Ok guys first if all I would just like to say a massive thabk you to all our members and everyone else that has supported us over the past 12 months. Everything... that happened in parliement yesterday we are well aware of and at the moment it is business as usual. The restrictions that were voted on seem reasonably fair and wont cause to many problems for players. We are still not a fan of the restriction and endeavour to do whatever it takes to try to persuade the goverment to change their minds. We are open to any suggestions that people may have and our inbox is always open. At the moment you just need to: sign up to an association/club. Carry blasters covered so public cant see. And lock away at home when not in use. Thats pretty much all we know at the moment. We will know more when the ALP put pen to paper so we can work out what it all means entirely. While the gameplay might be similar to paint ball, the field and safety requirements plus item themselves are so vastly different that aligning gel blaster toys with paint ball is just wrong. 24.01.2022 I have heard some people who say that they aren’t bothered by South Australia requiring a firearms licence for gel blaster toys. As a holder of numerous firearm... licences, I have been dealing with the firearms registries for a long time now. I am always sceptical of everything that they do because every single time they have introduced something that seems innocent, I have always discovered the real intention later on, which in my view is always planned and means you’re losing something. So think about this, if South Australia classify gel blasters as firearms, what do you think will apply to them? That’s right, appearance laws, every State in Australia has the appearance laws written into the definition of a Category-D firearm, so by making a gel blaster a firearm, you automatically get subjected to appearance laws which means they will be prohibited if they resemble an AR15, AK47 etc. which means 99% of gel blasters will be banned. Now think about this on the import side of things, if Federally they classify gel blasters as firearms, the same thing will apply, they will classify them as Category-D on appearance which means they have prohibited the import of 99% of gel blasters into Australia. Federally they will use the excuse of we have to do this because they are classified as firearms in some States and it’ll be accompanied by the old public safety catch phrase to justify their actions. This is my prediction, I don’t trust them one single bit as nothing is innocent with them, they can’t just come out and say they are banning something because there’s public backlash but instead if they just quote the catch phrase public safety and classify gel blasters as firearms then they can act all innocent that appearance laws is an unintentional consequence but they have still achieved their objective in my view - an outright ban! Time will tell...

21.01.2022 Due to the hold on importation of toy gel blasters at the moment, we wont be able to hold any blasters as a layby due the short supply. 21.01.2022 For too long firearms owners have had no political support from any party in South Australia! Things are out to change; we have been in talks with Liberal Democ...rats South Australia regarding a new candidate they will be running in the March 2022 elections for the Upper House. We can give you some assurances that this candidate will without any doubt be very supportive to the firearms community. LDP SA are now a very organised, professional party with a very strong core and strong candidate(s) who will be running in March 2022. However, they need our help, the Liberal Democrats South Australia need to get the party re-registered in South Australia. For them to do this they need approximately 300 signed membership declaration forms. The forms can either be sent to you once you sign up as a FREE associate member at www.ldp.org.au/associate or you can pop into The Gunnery, 51 Beach Road, Christies Beach and sign up there. This costs you nothing except a few moments of your time. As with every party, you may not agree with all their polices, but if you own firearms then you should be showing some support as this is the only firearm friendly party in South Australia, who will be supporting you.

20.01.2022 **GBAA Update** Hey all, With the amnesty finishing today I just want to reiterate that this isn’t over. To those supporting the cause thanks for your efforts ...also. We have a very unique situation where the police are entrapping a very significant portion of the general community on very serious charges after tonight. The basis of this entrapment is on a ballistics test that is so weak it isn’t actually even a test, what’s worse is there is still no legally valid reason for them to have done this. They have then intentionally perverted the course of our legal system to benefit the outcome they want to achieve. The system they set up to prevent mass arrests (by complying with the changes) was never going to work as there was no solution put in place to handle the magnitude of the industry. They just wanted everyone to comply, throw their toys in the bin and for everyone to go away quietly. They have yet to provide a workable and viable solution to the problem they created themselves. This has been the case the entire way through, the beauty of what they have done, while not only completely dispicable, is that they have veered so far off the beaten track they are sitting in the middle of the ocean. This is just starting. So to the police management and politicians behind this, the public will get a say on in you at the next election, we will be actively campaigning against you at every turn, and to the people sitting in their tax payer funded offices that have been monitoring these pages all along, you are as much of part of the problem we have in the political system in this country as the people sitting in the big chairs. When we win in court, we will be actively pursuing every avenue available to make sure that the police and politicians supporting this are held accountable, and more and more information comes to light each day. At the end of the day we have always been here willing to discuss and work with the police to get to a workable solution to move industry and the sport forwards, myself and others have contacted as many MP’s etc as possible and yet no one from the liberal party or the police has contacted us. 20.01.2022 **IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT** Sapol have made their move to push these regulation changes through before the next court date. As of the 2nd of March the minister for police will at some point slip these changes into the gazette for parliament. They come into effect immediately and there is 14 sitting days of parliament in which any politician can oppose these changes. Now is vitally important for everyone to contact their local mp or email and let them know they will now have th...e power to save all these jobs, businesses and the sport you love. You may have emailed before but we need everyone to let these politicians know the goal post have changed and they are trying to push this through before court sits at the end of the month and they now have the power to stop this. They need to be made aware as it can be slipped in at any time without their knowledge so they may need to look out for it. This is SAPOL and Marshall governments undemocratic way to get around the fact what they did initially was unlawful & that they were about to lose in court and we need the help of the MP’s to stand against this. 19.01.2022 Did you know the gels used in the blasters are most commonly known as Orbeez..? They start off small and end up looking like the blue gels in the photo after being hydrated in water for a few hours... NON-TOXIC & BIODEGRADABLE Our kids love just to play with them in a bowl.. they do feel really cool.. What else have you used them for other than playing with blasters?

18.01.2022 Just a quick update: This week we have sent a follow up letter direct to our Police Minister Tarzia requesting an urgent meeting and or discussion regarding gel... blasters in SA. We are also expecting a phone call from the head of Firearms branch tomorrow afternoon to respond to some questions regarding the pending review and ballistics report Wish us luck, hopefully we can provide some further info soon!

17.01.2022 With plenty of talk going around about toy gel blasters getting banned or regulated in South Australia. It is time for all fellow gel ball enthusiast to get onto Corey Wingard the minister for police, emergency services, correctional services and recreation, sport and racing and send him an email to [email protected] and tell him all the good things that the sport of gel blasting has done for you and the people around you! We need to show the people of power in the government that toy gel blasters are harmless and a great toy for all the community to play with and have fun at gel blasting fields across South Australia. We need to voice all the positives about the sport and encourage responsible use of toy blasters! Support the sport now so we can enjoy having games well into the future.

Queensland have embraced gelblasters and is a huge community involved sport... Less incidents from the "stop and think" campaign with help of Queensland police.. 10.01.2022 The nanny state and gel blasters Last night in parliament, I gave an impassioned speech on the State Governments Corrective Services and Other Legislation Am...endment Bill. Part of the amendments contained in the Bill state that people now need a "reasonable excuse" to possess replica firearms (such as gel blasters), such as if the person is a member of a club carrying out recreational activities involving these devices. Further, the regulation of replica firearms has now been enabled through amendments to the Weapons Categories Regulation 1997 by classifying replicas of firearms as restricted items. Those amendments will be made seperately to this Bill, but I fear this now paves the way to remove toy exemption in the Weapons Categories Regulation 1997 that currently applies to gel blasters. It is a dark day in Queensland when we start going after the low-hanging fruit by going after gel blasters rather than get to the crux of what is going on with crime in our community. Real crime is wreaking havoc throughout the seat of Hinchinbrook and parts of Townsville. The problem is that youth offenders are running around in stolen cars night in and night out, yet here we are taking away the opportunity for little Johnny and little Sarah to use their gel blasters through ridiculous bureaucratic overregulation. Labor is just taking the lazy option they want to go soft on crime but hard on toys, penalising the people who want to have some safe and responsible fun.
