23.01.2022 Back to school, and of course you’ll want your boy to look his best. Not sure that the stylish knickers meet that description. The free wallet and cards was an inducement to buy Stamina - Australian made ‘of course.

20.01.2022 Next question - does anyone know anything about Toycraft? There is a prize again

17.01.2022 More great postcards are being auctioned by Abacus Auctions on line on Mar 25 &26. Most of them are from the collection of Eve Pryor who was a long-time member ...of the Australian Cartophilic Society until her death last year. They cards are mainly in multi card lots with reasonable starting prices. To see the catalogue go to www.abacusauctions.com.au We are publicizing this auction to help our members have access to cards while we cannot hold our Fairs. Abacus Auctions is making a donation to the Society and covering all costs of the advertisment.

13.01.2022 BOOK FAIR: secondhand history bonanza at the Royal Historical Society of Victoria, 239 Abeckett st Melbourne. Members' Only Preview: Thu 18 Feb 5pm - 8pm Public: Fri 19 Feb, Sat 20 Feb & Mon 22 Feb... They don't publish books like this any more! I love the way the publishers gave a pulp-fiction makeover to some serious authors. These books and many more are to be found in the Les Blake Collection which will form the core of this year's Book Fair. Les Blake was the first State Historian of Victoria from 1974 to 1976 and RHSV President from 1966 to 1971. His son Michael has kindly donated this wonderful collection of books to the RHSV. One of his many interests was Australian literature and he published Australian Writers in 1968. His other interests included local Victorian history (he was involved in establishing many historical societies), history of education in Victoria, overlanding and gold. The books often contain his notes, marginalia and clippings and letters.

04.01.2022 Look at this price - is it an April fools' story?

02.01.2022 IT IS WITH MUCH REGRET THAT WE HAVE DECIDED NOT TO HOLD THE POSTCARD AND SMALL COLLECTIBLES FAIR WE HAD HOPED TO HOLD IN FEBRUARY. WE ARE NOT CONFIDENT ENOUGH ...THAT WE CAN DO SO IN A FEASIBLE AND SAFE MANNER. WE ARE, HOWEVER, QUITE OPTIMISTIC THAT WE WILL BE ABLE TO GO AHEAD WITH A GREAT FAIR IN MAY. IN THE MEANTIME TRY AND TAKE SOME CONSOLATION FROM THE TWO POSTCARD MESSAGES ILLUSTRATED BY THE U.S. ARTIST C.V DWIGGINS. See more

02.01.2022 Its International Women's Day and here is a flyer from 1949, from the State Library of Victoria #ephemera #iwd #ephemerasocietyofaustralia #1940s
