21.01.2022 Feedback from Andrew (Paddle WA & Bayswater Paddle Sports Surfski & Kayak Coach) A great ski, all the benefits of a high performance ski into a nice stable boat. Narrow catch, not much volume in the nose, no hump behind the knees, lots of handles, really manoeuvrable and stable and easy to link runs. Definitely a great boat for those new to ocean paddling or those that want a little extra stability without sacrificing performance.

19.01.2022 The Thursday night time trial held at Swan Canoe Club saw @steve_bird just going for one lap of the course. Being the competitor he is he kept going to finish the 12km trial on the Epic V9 in 4th place only a few seconds behind some of the top paddlers in WA in their ELITE boats. Finishing 10secs off the winning time. Yes, he is an awesome paddler but it goes to show just how awesome the V9 is. Steve commented on how comfortable and stable the ski is and yet you can still make it work hard.

17.01.2022 Today's training tip is from Andrew Crothers ... Positive self talk is a great way to keep your mind in the blue, logical, left hemisphere and analytical mindset. Getting angry, reacting emotionally, fight, flight or freeze is when the right hemisphere of your brain dominates your thoughts, negative self talk and running on anger may work temporarily but will also begin a negative spiral especially in training. Being comfortable in uncomfortable situations is what training is for, try experimenting with the positive self talk , smiling and thinking logically. When emotions creep in from adversity take a step back, frame the situation mentally review the options then step up to the challenge.

17.01.2022 This time last year we were enjoying catching up with friends and family in Dubai and enjoying France with new friends and old. Feeling very grateful that Will and I got to travel last year. Wouldn't mind doing it all over again. Charles Brand and Greg Barton #icfoceanworlds2019

14.01.2022 Our lawn went from green to snowing Epics and the street looked like a drive-thru, every car had roof racks and left with a ski or two. We put some very happy paddlers on the water this past weekend, such a great feeling. Massive thanks to Eddie Stoelwinder who stayed all day to help get rudders in boats and thanks to Andrew Crothers and Matthew Smiley Dean who helped us unload.

02.01.2022 Meet JADE our newest Team Rider for EKWA. Jade has been involved in various water-sports from a young age including sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. She was introduced into Triathlons in high school and loved it, but injuries forced her retirement and that was when she tried Stand Up Paddling while rehabilitating from a hip injury 8 years ago. "I fell in love with the all the types of SUP racing and surfing, but I would always watch all these surf skis zipping past me a...nd every year I would think I will have to try that out, but then the wind would blow and my SUP called out to go paddling. It wasn't until WA's isolation crack down, that I took the opportunity to learn a new skill. Now I find myself having more adventures, and I am excited to learn more and improve to go as fast as I can! I think the Epic V9 is a great boat to get me started on and perform. I'm looking forward to seeing where this new world of paddling will take me. Thank you Will and Vanessa for giving me such a wonderful opportunity to train and race as part of The Epic Team." What a great start she has had in winning the women's open ski division 15km this weekend at the inaugural Live_Lighter The Ramon Race 2020 (Ramon Andersson) with Paddle WA. Join us we follow Jade on her paddling journey from beginner to the West Coast Downwinder and Sunset Series races. See more

02.01.2022 I don't count my sit-ups. I only start counting when it starts hurting. When I feel pain, that's when I start counting, because that's when it really counts.

01.01.2022 WHY YOUR PADDLE MATTERS - "At Epic it's our goal is to make a paddle with a smooth catch & exit, while providing stable tracking and high efficiency in the mid portion of the stroke. The Epic teardrop shape blade gives a stronger catch at the start of the stroke. 01.01.2022 Yesterday Will went off to paddle 20km with Brendan Rice and Andy Mowlem (who were paddling a bit further). What was meant to be a few hours turned into an all day paddle, rock climbing, big rapids and a lost paddle. Luckily it ended with everyone safe and sound, although maybe a bit hungry and cold. Stay tuned for the video showing the highlights of their adventure.

01.01.2022 Only days to go before we are unpacking a whole lot of these and more.
