19.01.2022 In response to COVID-19, the Australian Government has introduced new limits on dispensing and sales of prescription and certain over-the-counter medicines. Certain prescription medications are limited to a one month supply at the prescribed dose. Dispensing of multiple repeats is permitted only for valid Regulation 49 prescriptions. Sales of some over-the-counter medicines are... limited to one unit per purchase. This includes salbutamol inhalers (Ventolin) and paracetamol paediatric formulations (Panadol). Other limits may apply to certain prescription products to ensure equitable supply. Your Epic pharmacist can provide further advice around which medications these restrictions apply to and we will work proactively with patients and customers to assist with continued supply of necessary medicines.
