25.01.2022 Epi-blading is a popular facial hair removal treatment that temporarily removes surface hair. Ideal for vellus hair type ie soft, peach fuzz light/blonde hair that won't respond with laser or electrolysis. It involves using a sterile surgical blade that gently removes the facial hair from the surface revealing a clean, hair free appearance.... It's also a fantastic gentle exfoliating treatment for the skin leaving skin smooth and soft post treatment. Foundation/makeup goes on beautifully on the skin post blading and you are able to get a better penetration of your serums and active products. Please note that epi blading does not reduce or permanently remove hair like electrolysis or laser. It's a treatment that just helps to remove surface hair which grows back within 6-8 weeks or longer. Rest assured, the treated hair does grow back exactly the same as what you start off with and does not change in appearance ie get thicker. Treatment is required once hair starts to grow back. 06.01.2022 Tips on how to manage facial hair growth at home// If you've been having professional hair removal treatments such as Electrolysis or Laser hair removal for facial hair, and have completely stopped due to the closures of salons that provide these treatments, here are a few tips to help you manage the regrowth and look after your skin until you resume treatments again. 1. TWEEZING/ WAXING, THREADING// We know this is a difficult one however, try to avoid or keep to a minimum ...with methods such as tweezing, threading and waxing, especially coarse facial hair. This may cause more regrowth and strengthen the follicle to produce a stronger hair. It may also affect your skin and cause temporary hyper-pigmentation/ discolouration as well as breakouts, constant redness (inflammation), dry skin and soreness on the areas being tweezed and waxed. This is due to the constant trauma being inflicted onto one area continuously and not allowing the skin to heal itself naturally and bounce back to its original state. However, if your skin isn't affected from these methods, and you just cannot go without tweezing, then go for it, but try and keep it to a minimum. 2. TRIM OR SHAVE// Shaving and trimming hairs will not have any effect on the base of the hair follicle (bulb/dermal papilla). As we are removing hair from the surface, there is no interference with the root of the hair follicle. We also advice on these methods of hair removal in between treatments with laser and electrolysis. The downside to trimming and shaving is that hair does grow back quickly, however it is less aggressive than tweezing and waxing and won't have too much of a negative effect on your skin. 3. BLEACHING// bleaching can be very helpful when you have alot of soft dark hair on your face or body. The light colour given from the bleach makes the hair look alot less obvious and can last for several weeks. Please keep in mind bleach is a chemical and may cause irritation to some skins. Prior to use, follow instructions and do a small test on the side of your face or inner arm to avoid any complications.
