13.01.2022 Hi all, hope you all had a fantastic week and have a joyful weekend.

12.01.2022 - Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, We have all witnessed the explosion that ravaged Beirut on Tuesday 4 August 2020. This trage...dy has left people dead, thousands wounded and destroyed properties and livelihoods. We have all watched in horror the destruction and suffering. Faced with this disaster, we raise our eyes to heaven seeking the Lords Mercy and asking him to shine his light on the Lebanese people going through this dark turmoil. And we ask: how much more can the people of Lebanon suffer? Years of war and then decades of corruption and financial mismanagement, a pandemic, and financial crisis. How much more can this nation carry and for how much longer must we, as Gibran Khalil Gibran wrote nearly 100 years ago, continue to Pity the Nation? , a time when the Lord through his saving light reminded the apostles that he was Saviour and the Sun of Righteousness. We are people of hope and we are the children of Righteousness. Today we all examine our own conscience and call for what is right. Every time we look out and see the sun in the sky or the moon against the darkness, we are reminded, that Christ the light is here and has not forsaken us, even in our suffering and the suffering of others. We continue to believe in the power of prayer and continue to lament and cry out for mercy and peace to the victims, for comfort and consolation to their families, for healing to the wounded and the sick, for freedom for the oppressed and for hope for the suffering people of Lebanon. We persevere for unity in the face of division. Our community in Australia shares the pain of the people in Beirut and all of Lebanon. They are our families, our friends, our colleagues, our brothers and our sisters. Our Eparchy has launched the in collaboration with Maronites on Mission Australia. All funds raised will go to the many families in urgent need of help in Beirut. Donations will be distributed in collaboration with charitable organisations on the ground in Lebanon and can be made on the Maronites on Mission website (www.maronitesonmission.com). As we journey towards the Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady, let us fast and pray that, by the grace of God and through the intercession of Our Lady of Lebanon, Beirut will rise again as the Pearl of the Orient, a city for the encounter of cultures and civilisations, and for the Lebanese people to know stability and peace. + -

01.01.2022 Some of our Antiochers are partaking in a 33 day Marian consecration from July 13-August 15th, finishing on the Feast Day of the Assumption of Mary. These days ...hopefully will deepen our relationship with Mary to form us more like Saints and be living examples of Christ. Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary truly is the surest, easiest, shortest, and the most perfect means to becoming a Saint, and the 33 days are the best way to dive in to such a blessing. - Father Michael Gaitley If you would like the devotion guide, please email [email protected] or message the Parish Facebook page.
