20.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS SOFIA !!!!!! Cheltenham Girls High School Sofia Guastini from Cheltenham Girls High School was triumphant at the Lions Youth of the Year dinner hosted by Epping Eastwood Lions Club. Undertaking an interview, two impromptu questions and a prepared speech gave Sofia the marks required to beat competition from Epping Boys High School and Marist College Eastwood students. Michael Summers from Marist College Eastwood won the Public Speaking Award. With three judg...es, Jeanette Bastian, Rosemary Hegner and Tim Radford adjudicating, the students were in good hands. Sofia will now go on to contest the Area Final on 12th March. Well done to all the students who competed at this first level of the Program. See more

18.01.2022 Over the past few weeks, and especially the past two evenings I have been privileged to be a part of and observe some of our finest up and coming young adults i...n the community of Berowra and Hornsby. The Lions Youth of the Year Australia club competitions for the Berowra Lions Club and the Hornsby Lions Sydney were held over the past two evenings. And I must say that the skills, talent and enthusiasm shown by these your adults was a sight to behold. Overall winner of the Berowra Lions Club competition was Lucy Koder from Abbotsleigh and the Public Speaking Competition winner was Erin Longney from Loreto Normanhurst. Overall winner of the Hornsby Lions Club competition was Hayley Winch from Asquith Girls High School and the Public Speaking Competition winner was Michelle Hoffman from Loreto Normanhurst Congratulations to all of the winners, but also to all of the participants who put in such an amazing effort overall. The overall winners from each club will now move on to the Area Finals to be held on 10 March.
