24.01.2022 We recognise that walking through the doors of one of our branches in Toowoomba or Dalby may not be an option for some at the moment, whether it be quarantining, lack of transport or a host of other reasons. With this in mind, Eva's Place offers free, confidential pregnancy consultations, ongoing mentoring, and counselling services in person, over the phone, video call or even a mixture of all of them depending on what each person finds to be the most achievable. 15.01.2022 Holly (name changed) was very anxious about her pregnancy because she did not have family around her nor many friends in Toowoomba. She searched the internet and found out about Eva’s Place through Facebook. At 15 weeks pregnant she was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and was scared for herself and her baby. She started attending Eva’s Place and found her mentor very helpful. Holly had many questions and was curious about many areas. She searched the internet as well but was often confused by what she found there. She valued being able to get answers to her questions based on expert advice. 15.01.2022 Being on a temporary visa and finding out that you are unexpectedly pregnant can come with a lot of additional challenges, such as the fact that most temporary visa holders are not eligible to access the medicare system like permanent residents or Australian citizens. However, there are still options available, and Eva's Place has the resources to be able to support anyone who has found themselves in a pregnancy crisis situation whilst on a temporary visa.
