23.01.2022 We should be treating plastic as an asset. We want to set up a processing plant using thermal chemical reaction in breaking the molecular structure of plastic and extracting carbon black, oil and methane gas. We want to stop plastics, tyres and mattresses from going into landfill.... #water4life #biofuels
22.01.2022 Thank you Mark Vanner, Director Wide Bay Water & Waste Services from Fraser Coast Regional Council for all your advice and expertise. We look forward to continuing the conversation and working with you and your team into the future. #eps #fcrc #plasticsolutions
21.01.2022 Environmental Plastic Sol Pty Ltd (EPS) is a new company in Maryborough with a strong focus on creating a new sustainable industry by treating plastic as an asset. 60,000 to 65,000 tonnes of waste ends up in landfill on the Fraser Coast each year which is completely unsustainable. We believe landfills should not remain an integral part of our waste cycle into the foreseeable future. Well managed, best practice landfills provide safe disposal of limited residual waste and the ...potential for resource recovery. Our Objective: To set up a plastic processing plant using the new technology of thermal-chemical reaction in breaking the molecular structure of plastic and extracting carbon black, oil and methane gas. Taking the pressure of dumping plastic, tyres and mattresses in land fill, reducing the cost significantly. We are a regional community with high unemployment. EPS will: create jobs enhance leadership capacity have a positive impact on economic activity enhance, complement community facilities encourage community cohesion and sense of identity include Indigenous economic participation through employment and supplier-use outcomes Please like (y) and follow us for updates on the progress of this innovative exciting project. #EPS #plasticsolutions #biofuels
11.01.2022 Climate change is not the biggest threat to the world’s environment we are. The world’s rivers and seas aren’t choked with floating piles of rubbish, toxic chemicals and plastic waste because of climate change. They’re that way because we have 7.7 billion people crammed onto a planet that’s dying under the pressure of our greedy, selfish abuse. Two decades from now, the earth’s oceans are on target to contain more plastic in them (by weight) than fish. Climate change didn...’t do that. Way too many people did that. Let’s not confuse activism with action they’re not the same. One is about social inclusion and feeling good about your outrage; the other is about doing something tangible to make things better. What will local, state and federal governments do to advance our initiative of setting up a plastic processing plant in Maryborough using the new technology of thermal-chemical reaction in breaking the molecular structure of plastic and extracting carbon black, oil and methane gas. Driven by a circular economy, taking the pressure of dumping plastic, tyres and mattresses in land fill? #water4life #STOPlandfill #biofuels
09.01.2022 Our relationship with plastic is broken The vast majority of plastics produced to date are derived from fossil fuels. Plastics are made from polymers - long molecular chains comprising smaller carbon-based molecules. Oil and gas are the cheapest materials from which to produce raw polymer resin. This resin is then made into plastic by adding dyes, plasticizers and other chemicals. Fossil fuel-based plastic has countless uses and is produced very cheaply. Plastic recycling has... largely been overlooked because, in the developed world at least, our waste is carted away from our homes and often shipped overseas. This leaves little incentive to tackle our plastic addiction. But our out of sight, out of mind mentality cannot persist. EPS is building the solution! 07.01.2022 Say it louder for the polluters in the back!
07.01.2022 State and local governments have been struggling to stop our plastic, glass, paper and cardboard from either entering landfill or being stockpiled since recycling importers began rejecting our waste. In the meantime our own sense of purpose in separating rubbish starts to fall away - so what can be done? EPS has the solution.... #phaseOUTplastic #STOPlandfill https://radio.abc.net.au/programitem/pezLja19NQ
04.01.2022 Indonesia says it will send eight containers of household rubbish back to Australia after inspectors declared the material too contaminated to be recycled. Australia should be treating rubbish as an asset and taking care of their own waste. Fraser Coast can lead the way in showing how it can be done by supporting EPS. Creating a sustainable industry, opening up opportunities for jobs, jobs and more jobs. ... Let us work together and turn all plastics back to its molecular structure and a produce a product that can be refined, refined some more and refined even further. #waste2energy #biofuels #blackcarbon #plastic #STOPlandfill
02.01.2022 There is so much that can be done. We are in the final stages of constructing a prototype plastic processing plant to show the people of the Fraser Coast and beyond how treating plastic as an asset will value add across many portfolios. By utilising the technology of thermal-chemical reaction in breaking the molecular structure of plastic we will be extracting carbon black, crude oil and methane gas. ... Our approach has the potential to address a broad market and compete with petroleum products, something that the vast majority of mechanically recycled plastics cannot do. The oil market was rattled by a strike on a Saudi Arabian oil facility that has removed about 5% of global supplies. Driven by a circular economy, taking the pressure of dumping plastic and tyres in land fill, reducing the cost significantly. The vast majority of the plastic sent out into the world is never recovered, and nearly 90 per cent of such waste ends up in landfills, incinerators, rivers and oceans. Only about 6 per cent of plastics used in the US and Canada are available for recycling, according to the report. We can do better! 02.01.2022 There are significant economic and environmental benefits to the recycling of waste plastics, especially that of polystyrene. Currently, much of polystyrene waste is sent to landfills due to the difficulty in separation and cleaning processes, where it accumulates indefinitely. It contributes to plastic pollution and adversely affects wildlife, oceans and humans. The chemical recycling of polystyrene, however, is a relatively unexploited market with significant potential for... both economic and environmental benefits. Pyrolysis of waste polystyrene is a chemical recycling method. This reaction yields useful liquid fuel products such as styrene, ethylbenzene, toluene, and methylstyrene, which can be sold to provide project revenues. Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) cannot be collected in your council recycling service. https://recyclingnearyou.com.au/polystyrene/ #polystyrene #styrofoam #pyrolysis #STOPlandfill
02.01.2022 We have been working on a solution for several years to create a new sustainable industry by treating plastic as an asset by setting up a plastic processing plant using the new technology of thermal chemical reaction in breaking the molecular structure of plastic and extracting carbon black, oil and methane gas. We have approached Local, State and Federal Governments, who have agreed the potential was huge. We have a prototype ready and need land which is proving problematic ...due to land locking issues. Why isn't there a Business Science Park on the Fraser Coast? If the Mayor can be inspired enough to have Council pay $7,000 for a Seabin plus ongoing costs surely they can see the value this would add to every portfolio and find suitable land for this project that would ultimately stop unnecessary landfill and create jobs. Not only can we stop all plastics from going to landfill, we can stop tyres and mattresses too.
