21.01.2022 G’day EPS families, Information about the coming weeks will be sent to me from DET throughout the week. So instead of a newsletter with some information this week, we will send out a newsletter with the latest most up to date information next week. We’ll still email our calendar this week and contact the 5/6 families regarding camp. ... Our teachers and educational support staff are still working very hard to provide your child with their learning and will continue to do so for the next two weeks and the first week back of term 4. Hang in there everyone. Let’s not drop the learning and engagement ball in the last 2 weeks of term. We can do this! Thanks, Kate FitzGerald

21.01.2022 TERM 3 HOUSE EVENT - ENERGY BREAKTHROUGH UNIFORM DESIGN COMPETITION Thanks to all the awesome students and families who have entered a design in this term’s House competition. We have had some great uniform designs. Mr P and the EBT team will sit down and vote on the winning design when everyone is back at school in term 4, this has been too hard with everyone still remote learning. We will then announce the winner and the total House points won, with the winning student getting their very own EBT uniform. Seeing as the date has been pushed pack, Mr Smyth will be accepting any last minute entries until the end of term 4. Please send all entries to: [email protected]

05.01.2022 This week Staff and Students will be celebrating NAIDOC Week! Epsom PS is situated on Dja Dja Wurrung Country and our students can view this on Indigenous maps present on the walls of every classroom. We acknowledge the traditional owners of our land and we pay respect to them through the immersion of Indigenous culture in our weekly teaching across the school. Staff carry out professional development on Indigenous culture and pass on this knowledge and positivity to our st...udents. Walking around our school you will see Indigenous rugs, flags and literature present in every classroom, every day. We are using this week at school to continue exposing our students to Indigenous history and culture. They will complete a range of activities in the classrooms and with specialists. Please ask them to share their learning with you after school each day this week. It will be a wonderful week of cultural learning and celebration!

02.01.2022 To celebrate our 200 night readers this term the teachers have created a story for you. This story is made up of lines from our favourite books to read. We all love reading and we know you do too! We hope you enjoy this story as much as we enjoyed making it. We'd love for our students to challenge themselves and record their own stories, made up from lines of some of their favourite books to read. If you're up for the challenge collect your favourite stories, pick the lines you love, arrange them into a story, record yourself reading your story and then head over to our remote learning website and submit your story. We would love to share some of these when we return to school for term 4. https://youtu.be/1IEkw4YeE4Y
