23.01.2022 Today is World Kindness Day - a day to highlight good deeds in the community focusing on the positive power of kindness to bind us together. Early Years Educators do kindness everyday, and I get to see the gratitude families feel for them in my work, with comments such as the one shown below. I also get to see how educators support each other and the wonderful impact this has on each person's job satisfaction...so thank you, early educators, for the kindness you show each other and for the kindness you show to children and their families, it makes such a great difference!

22.01.2022 It’s Science Week! Early Years Educators, if you can find one of these and a bag of apples, it’s a fun (supervised) activity for your 3-5 year olds.

21.01.2022 Is it really worthwhile conducting parent and staff surveys at your childcare or kindergarten? Consider this: eQIPd clients originally assessed as Meeting had an improvement rate of 65%. The average improvement rate of all services assessed by ACECQA for the same period is only 19%. Is it worthwhile conducting parent and staff surveys? I'd say it's a "Yes!"

20.01.2022 Early Years Educators, it's International Talk Like a Pirate Day on September 19 - a great time to dress up as a pirate, sing some sea shanties and use pirates' favourite letter...R!

19.01.2022 Shout out to our Victorian early childhood educators - still fronting up to work educating and caring for children while so many other industries/sectors are in lockdown. Thank you for your incredible work.

18.01.2022 Oh masks! How I detest wearing them! But we have to, and we might as well put a smile on our dials, as much for our own sakes as well as for helping a positive vibe while at work or out and about. Check this out, especially if you’d like some musical inspiration for working with children while wearing a mask.

17.01.2022 It's good to be organised! Get set for 2021 and book in your parent and/or educator survey before Feb 28 and receive complimentary benchmarking for just $135 (normally $185).

15.01.2022 Which app does your childcare or kindergarten/preschool service use? It's a common question among early years staff but the research shows there are more important questions which leadership should be asking.

15.01.2022 Some great tips for parents at home with babies and toddlers

14.01.2022 So many education and care services use apps to communicate with families and document children's learning - does yours? Sharing is caring! Please complete the 2 minute survey and hopefully we can build up a picture of what apps are out there and which ones are best. Thank you for your input - we are happy to share the collated results with respondents. https://surveys.eqipd.com.au/s3/EducationandCareApps

14.01.2022 For Victorian clients (and services in other states if they need), we are offering standard COVID19 questions in our family surveys - to check in on how your measures to respond to the pandemic are perceived by families.

12.01.2022 https://apple.news/AEHtYQLwlSkGuMND9xjFBmg Wondering how other childcare providers are going now that free childcare is finished? This is a good article with a few indications...and they’re not great.

12.01.2022 I know, this one is really corny!

10.01.2022 Who knew you should register your business with Google? Hmm. Not me! Thank you, Belinda Eden of Troop Employment for the hot tip! Please click on the link and let me know if it looks right?

10.01.2022 Quality is about using feedback loops

09.01.2022 With COVID19 raising its ugly head again, and the impact on jobs now being felt...I can't help but agree that plans need to be in place to make childcare accessible and affordable to all. Returning to the current childcare subsidy arrangements now is way too early! #childcare #earlylearning #parents

09.01.2022 So many childcare, kindergarten and preschool leadership teams question which app their service should use to communicate with families - but the research from eQIPd shows they're not asking the right question. #earlychildhoodeducation #earlylearning #earlyyearseducation #quality

09.01.2022 It's is becoming pretty clear that how we provide (and fund) early education and care needs an overhaul.

09.01.2022 How to make the self-assessment and quality improvement process a shared and collaborative process? Watch to find out. #earlyyears #earlyeducation #educator #childcare #preschool #quality #leadership

08.01.2022 Do you own a Long Day Care Service? What are the top 3 challenges for you in this post-lockdown, soon to end free childcare world? A survey with just one question!

08.01.2022 Educators! It's RUOK Day today - a reminder that we should check in and support each other. This is a great video for the children to watch, especially for the rap moves like The Worm! But RUOK is not just for kids - it's also a reminder for educators to check in with their fellow educators and parents who might be finding things tough at the moment - take the time to check in with someone and ask if they are ok (and take the time to listen)...and check in with yourself too! https://youtu.be/09qk0lXTfi4

07.01.2022 This is a fantastic article to share with parents about responding to fussy eating in children. #earlylearning #earlyeducators #parenting #earlychildhood #kindergarten #nutrition

04.01.2022 With the US election dominating so much of the news lately, I thought I'd share a quote about democracy and quality in early education and care settings from Peter Moss. It kind of sums up what eQIPd is trying to help address.

01.01.2022 Children's Week 2020 has the theme from Article 15 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child: "Children have the right to meet together and join groups and organisations as long as it does not stop other people from enjoying their rights. In exercising their rights, children have the responsibility to respect the rights, freedom and reputations of others" In other words, children have the right to play with their friends...something here in Victoria we are not taking for granted after months of lockdown in 2020. #earlyyears #educators #kindergarten #childrensweek #covid19
