There's a rally being organised by a broad group of individuals and organisations and we encourage you to head along and invite your friends to defeat this bill.

08.01.2022 Equal Love Melbourne celebrates a year of marriage equality following the postal survey announcement 12 months earlier, where 61.6% of Australian's who submitted a ballot said YES to Marriage Equality. The event featured an exhibition of Equal Love's 14 year fight to overturn the homophobic ban of the 2004 Howard Government, a show with performances from Justin Teliqure, The Leather Lungs and Joshua Munroe and speeches from Ron & Antony who married on the 1st day same sexed p...artners could. We also heard from the campaign manager of Equal Love and the founder of the venue The 86 whose donation of a floor in the building allowed us to create a main hub for the YES campaign; Anthony Wallace, and the convenor of Equal Love in Melbourne Ali Hogg. Bringing it all together was ex ABC TV's Tonightly with Tom Ballard host - Tom Ballard. We had a wonderful time catching up with so many people like Rainbow Family's Felicity Marlowe, who stood alongside Equal Love as we rallied time and time again till finally We Did It. Thanks to Dean Arcuri for being on hand to capture these shots and memories for us.

Here is a compilation of vision from the moment we all learned that 61.6% of voters ticked 'YES' and that after an exhausting campaign against our bigoted opponents with their shameful attacks on our relationships with their 'the sky will fall in' and 'next thing you know people will start marrying bridges' rhetoric - WE WON! Thanks to everyone who made it such a memorable moment and for... sharing these clips online so we can relive it over and over again. **** The fight continues and as we did with our plight to win marriage rights, we must stand together once again to prevent law makers of enshrining new discriminatory legislation hidden behind the veil of religion. No-ones right of 'religious freedom' should ever allow such person a legal right to discriminate against anyone, EVER!
