13.01.2022 RULES | Protective headgear will be mandatory in FEI dressage from 1 January 2021 as the FEI stands behind the decision it made at last year's FEI General A...ssembly despite a petition put forward by the International Dressage Riders’ Club requesting to maintain the option to use top hats in senior international competitions The FEI Board discussed the issue again at the 2020 General Assembly and, although this rule has already been approved at last year’s General Assembly and is not an FEI Board decision, voted unanimously to maintain implementation on 1 January 2021. The FEI Board support for the General Assembly decision was based on safety grounds, the fact that a full consultation process had been conducted prior to the vote at the 2019 General Assembly, and that there is a clear and transparent process for Rules revision. 11.01.2022 The existing Equestrian Northern Territory (ENT) Board of Directors was pleased to initially receive more nominations than positions vacant. This demonstrates the membership is engaged with process and wanting to be involved with the organisation moving into the future. The reason the membership ballot was not undertaken was, one of the nominees received a very attractive job offer after nominations closed, and was unable to commit to both roles. Please join us in welcoming ...our new directors: Christine Edgoose from Alice Springs and Sally Isberg from Darwin. Both nominees will be ratified at the ENT AGM, Thursday 10 December. In addition Anne-Marie Cruickshank re-nominated. As at the 2020 AGM the ENT Board will comprise of: Anne-Marie Cruickshank until 2023 Christine Edgoose until 2023 Sally Isberg until 2023 Martin Evans until 2022 Tanya Reynolds until 2021 Jodi Triggs outgoing at AGM Darwin Dressage Club Darwin Show Jumping Club The Berrimah Riding Club Alice Springs Dressage Club Alice Springs Equestrian Management Group

11.01.2022 RULES | From July 2021 horses competing in FEI events will no longer be able to have their whiskers shaved. The decision was passed at the FEI General Asse...mbly held earlier this week. "Horses are not permitted to compete in FEI Events if the Horse’s sensory hairs have been clipped and/or shaven or in any other way removed unless individual sensory hairs have been removed by a veterinarian to prevent pain or discomfort for the Horse. Areas of hair that must be clipped, shaven or removed to allow veterinary treatment are exempt from this rule. As of 1 July 2021, Sanction 39 in Annex VI will be applicable". The Veterinary Committee believes that the horse’s sensory hairs must not be trimmed or removed as it reduces the horse’s sensory ability. The change will align with legislation in a number of National Federation's where trimming or removal of sensory hairs is forbidden and in some cases carries a heavy sanction. 02.01.2022 PARIS 2024 | Château de Versailles Reconfirmed as Venue for Equestrian Events for Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games The Organising Committee of the Pari...s 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games has announced a new concept for its venues in a bid to make budget savings in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was decided at a Paris 2024 Executive Board meeting that some venues should be shared, but equestrian sports, including modern pentathlon, will remain alone at the Château de Versailles. The Palace of Versailles, whose origins date back to the seventeenth century, was a hunting lodge before coming the seat of French power in 1682 when Louis XIV moved not only the aristocracy to Versailles, but also the main body of administration. From the nineteenth century the palace has housed a museum, with the gardens and the Palaces of Trianon, the park of the Château de Versailles spreads over 800 hectares. The proposals are now set to be discussed with International Federations, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Paralympic Committee. FULL list of venues for Paris 2024 can be found by clicking on the link below https://www.insidethegames.biz//Paris+2024+-+Olympic+and+P Paris 2024 Organising Committee #Paris2024 #OlympicGames #Equestrian #AusEquestrianTeam #EAHighPerformance Equestrian Victoria Equestrian NSW Equestrian Western Australia Equestrian Tasmania Equestrian South Australia Inc Equestrian Queensland Equestrian Northern Territory

01.01.2022 Over the last 2 days 20 ENT members from Darwin to Alice Springs including Katherine and 1 EWA member all the way from Broome were put through their paces with well renowned FEI Level 3 Course Designer Graeme Watts from QLD, at the EA Level 1 Course Designers Accreditation Course. Graeme commented it was a really great bunch of people to work with, and fantastic to see so many people engaged in the discipline of Jumping in a remote area This has been one of the biggest gr...oups ENT has provided accreditation for. Showing how active and engaged members are wanting to be involved in the sport of equestrian and in this particular case Jumping. The group was put through two extensive days of learning which comprised of theory and practical course building. Each student had to design a course which Graeme will now review in conjunction with a colleague as part of the accreditation process. With any luck we will shortly have accredited Course Designers located in Katherine and Alice Springs and increase the pool in Darwin. Thank you to Darwin Show Jumping Club for the use of their equipment to build with, and Noonamah Horse and Pony club for their hospitality of their clubhouse. If you would like to know more information about accreditation courses including coaching please don’t hesitate to make contact with us email [email protected] or phone 0497 303 535 during office hours. Thank you to everyone in involved and Graeme for making the trip up to Darwin.
