24.01.2022 So we know switching on the Nrf2 pathway enhances cellular health right! We know Oxidative Stress is bad ... and we know ALL mammals have Oxidative Stress. ( OS is cells in trauma, kind of like the cells are rusting/ageing ) We know that OS is linked to many many health issues and we know Nrf2 activation can significantly reduce it. If youd like some studies or videos on Nrf2 and oxidative stress please shout out... Here are 2 studies on OS in The studies talk about the importance of antioxidants and we also know Nrf2 activation will increase production of the antioxidant enzyme. *Effects of dietary antioxidant supplementation on oxidative damage and resistance to oxidative damage during prolonged exercise in sled dogs. https://europepmc.org/article/med/10951977 Abstract OBJECTIVE: To determine whether repetitive endurance exercise in sled dogs was associated with substantial lipid peroxidation, decreases in antioxidant capacity of the serum, and skeletal muscle damage. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10803645 Id also encourage you to google Oxidative Stress and any health issue you or your pet may have
24.01.2022 Yawning can be sooo expressive and a big tension release! Does your horse yawn after exercise? This is a good tool to train :) as its getting the horse to let go.... ridden work, training, floating and competing is not what they are meant to be doing. So tell your best friend that yes its great to yawn during a body work treatment, but observe them for this behaviour and try to cue it in..
24.01.2022 Lucerne hay or lucerne chaff with a pro biotic whilst getting ready - prevents ulcers. Groom vigorously along their neck, shoulders, back, gluteals and hamstrings- stimulating blood flow. Perform 3 tummy lifts - activate core muscles. Perform lumber sacral flexion- stimulates LS joint, pelvis and core muscles. Observe their reactions to tacking up - are there any objections.... 4 carrot stretches - lateral, poll, illiopsoas. Check in with the hyoid and jaw using a easy mobilisation technique Pop on the bridle and observe signs of happiness or discomfort. Walk the horse out and perform some easy ground work to create blood flow, stimulate their muscles and check in with their mental health. I usually spend about 10 minutes. Use a mounting block to get on and enjoy See more
24.01.2022 Bindi is a beautiful Arabian derivative Palomino too Looking for a kind, sensitive owner shes lovely mare..
23.01.2022 Hyoid who has heard me say their horses hyoids restricted? The type of bit and fit you have in your horses mouth either creates body harmony and balance, or tension and lack of performance. Myler bits are great, or bit less even better. I encourage a lot of my clients to perform a easy exercise daily to loosen the hyoid ... It really works too See more
23.01.2022 pulling the #surefootpads out to complete a body work session. Tim absolutely soaked them up

19.01.2022 Lateral stretches really open your horses ribcage, spine and thoracic sling. There are numerous points to target to stimulate different muscle lines, for flexibility and strength! Opening up your own ribcage is also important for a healthy back and posture

18.01.2022 There are multiple muscles involved in creating a strong stable core and topline. You can feel some of them such as the external obliques, however the internal deep muscles such as the ilipsoas are only felt internally. Focus on developing your horses core stability and everything else will come together easily! It also means a strong, stable and flexible back, which is important for longevity. A qualified sports therapist will be able to give you tips and advice on developing a strong core!

16.01.2022 Love this video... Check out how much movement your horses back and ribcage moves in a walk. What do you see in trot ?
16.01.2022 #surefootpads tap into the nervous system - stimulating the parasympathetic response mentally and physically. Combined with #rocktapeequine which instantly reduces inflammation, promotes circulation and assists in either activating or relaxing muscle groups. ... Spirit was interesting he stood and relaxed on the pads, but only after hed being #rocktapeequine. If your interested in learning how you can help your horse send me a message.

13.01.2022 Shatahn loved his Osteo adjustment this morning, from the awesome Kate Williams at Happy Horse Sports Therapy! He had a few things, but all realigned easily. He hasnt had one since November 2019. Its great to see his back health mobility improving, especially as hes going on 15 soon! I have to keep up the joint support as his left hock range of motion is showing some age. Prevention is better than cure, look after the body before it breaks down with regular body work, joint support, internal health and the correct work for optimal posture engagement!

07.01.2022 Have you experienced what the Equissage feels like? Would you like to feel like a jelly jelly fish
07.01.2022 Customer service is a top priority! Remember theres only me in the office and on the road :) I try my hardest to fit everyone in on schedules and I always follow up! Im not pushing for another appointment, I just want to know how they are doing. However when I work on your horse more than once I get a deeper connection and the layers of the onion start peeling off. Their bodies usually end up lovely and loose after q couple and hold really well. However if they dont ther...e is a reason.. Im more than happy to refer to other contacts who specialise in other therapies, such as emotional release. Some horses hold onto pain so much they need this help.
07.01.2022 Exploring beautiful Paranella Park today
07.01.2022 Miss Judi has had a great 2 weeks and is soaking up all the loving here @sunsetfarmqld . This week Katie from @Zen Animal therapies came and gave her a beautiful acupuncture session. Working on clearing her negative energy and balancing her emotions, in preparation for new training! There was also some points for her hindquarters and her stomach too Judi was very shut down from herself due to pain! This has caused her to be totally disconnected from her body, as it’s bette...r to not acknowledge it when no one really listens. Its exciting to see the way she communicated about what she needed and where! I take a whole horse health approach to getting a horse to feel better Regular bodywork is 20% of the feel good pie
05.01.2022 6 hoof trims today golly gosh! I do love seeing how you can totally alter a foot with good trimming and so thankful to my ongoing mentor @healthyhooves_horsemanship and owner who realise the importance of monthly trims. 03.01.2022 I’m heading over the gateway this Wednesday! Sports massage therapy is beneficial for every equine athlete, it allows your horse to express how they feel about their body and improves their performance and overall body function.
01.01.2022 What goes in your horses mouth affects their body, hooves and organs! Are you feeding your horse healthy food or junk Food? Junk feed may include: Anything soy based High NSC grains - barley, corn, millrun, millmix etc. ... Molasses - sugar creates acidity in the body, causing sore joints, unhealthy gut health and sore feet. Oils such as canola and sunflower Healthy feed: Grain free - these are usually fibre based such as lupin hulls. High fibre - better for your horses gut! The basis of your horses diet should be fibre. Make the most of these bargain prices, if you’d like to order please message me! Delivery maybe able to be arranged, but pick from Thornlands preferred.
01.01.2022 Sore backs present in all kinds of ways! However if you can visibly see the spine and the tension it is causing to the muscles, its right! It may not be spasmodically tight but its tension tight. Your horses back is as important as their feet , no back no horse!
01.01.2022 Tips to make it a success Unlock the neck and lower the head below withers Use the cue back and apply pressure to chest As you get to the pole say lift lift for back legs and again for front legs ... This exercise is great for loosening the hocks and softening the power back. It stimulates all muscle chains from poll to tail. Can you horse do it? Takes coordination- core strength and good communication
