22.01.2022 All of our Equilibrium team members are currently getting their training and nutrition programs online and following them at home. But no one has a cookie cutter home program! While a lot of people are feeling stressed and anxious in this situation, we can also looking at the positives of stepping back and building on some weaknesses. In addition, we are focusing on doing what we can do, like working on core strength! Each Individualised program is based on client needs and their available equipment. It's so important to keep active and to keep moving towards your goals. Get in touch if you are after programming to keep you on track!

20.01.2022 Time to revisit your approach to training, nutrition, or mindset? The Equilibrium team are working hard to maintain routines and optimise their health throughout COVID19. It's so important to remain active and to be part of a community of like-minded people. Please reach out if you need any assistance or advice!

19.01.2022 Thoracic extension is not as much about extension as it is about reducing relative flexion! Corrective exercises such as these thoracic extension and rotation movements assist with optimising the thoracic spine. This leads to improved movements of the scapulae and arms.

19.01.2022 Coach profile: Anabelle Years in Powerlifting: 2 years Best lifts: S125kg B67kg D144kg Coach Qualifications: Cert 3 & 4 fitness, NCAS registration Focus: Strength & Powerlifting, Technique, Nutrition.... About: I am a mum of two beautiful girls, Tahlia & Savannah. I found strength training and powerlifting after having kids. As a mum, it can be easy to put all your focus into your children and forget your own goals. Powerlifting and strength training changed my life for the better. It allowed me to set goals and learn skills that I can transfer into many other aspects of my life, most importantly, powerlifting has taught me that our bodies can achieve great things when you set your mind to it. 16.01.2022 The Equilibrium team are all working hard to stay on track despite not having the gym or gym doggos! We are keeping communication open and checking in on each other as well. We still have a lot of ways to keep making progress and feel like part of a community

16.01.2022 We are seeing some fantastic home gym set ups coming together lately! This gym (and doggo) belong to @5n0wwh1t3 who is adamant she will not be losing any progress while the gyms are closed. We've transitioned Bree from face-to-face to online coaching and she is absolutely smashing it

14.01.2022 Need some direction for your training? Our online services are still available and tailored to your needs! DM or email for more information :)

13.01.2022 Couples who train together stay together, right? They also dob each other in to the coach when the other hasn't done their rehab, warm ups, or accessories!

12.01.2022 With local comps cancelled, we managed to get some (socially distanced) testing completed last week. @leesieburke came through with a 140kg squat, 80kg bench, and massive 170kg deadlift for a 390kg total at 68kg bodyweight. Leesie is always willing to put in the work and her mental toughness in training definitely carried through to this testing day

12.01.2022 One day we will lift together again! Until then, there's always something you can be doing to work towards your goals.

11.01.2022 @jimmyfmx with a 182.5kg squat for a PB! Jimmy failed his last warm up before this but we went up anyway as he gave me his word that he would go in with more confidence and use his squat routine (limiting the possibility of getting overwhelmed). For a lot lifters, mental attitude towards training is the key to successful heavy lifting. Lifters should have a routine for each lift and should have an understanding of their ideal levels of confidence and arousal without going overboard and losing concentration.

10.01.2022 Reposting this because it's one of my favourite videos! @raymac92 finally breaking her bench plateau after we fixed her technique. Rach is now benching 60kg with ease and she'll be heading into another comp prep in a few months It should come as no surprise that technique is key! You won't get anywhere by flinging the bar around.

10.01.2022 A throwback to @roonstagram hitting a bench PB! Sally achieved this through a combination of light and heavy bench days as well as some targeted hypertrophy work. We have definitely found what works for her as she even surprised herself with this PB on testing day. Sally has since set up a gym in her garage so she is staying on track while working from home

10.01.2022 Do you have dreams and goals for your powerlifting in 2020? I can help you get there! Focus: Powerlifting, strength training, and athlete mindset. 08.01.2022 Just ten spots remaining in the next Equilibrium Open competition! We are preparing for a big day at the gym and will also be running the @powerliftingaustralia referee course over the weekend.

08.01.2022 Is powerlifting cancelled? How do I measure progress now? Where do I go from here? Check out our latest blog to answer these questions and more! Written by coach Ash - www.equilibrium.net au/blog @the_strongside @equilibrium.training

07.01.2022 One more comp recap before we move on to the 2020 competitions! @roonstagram competed just before Christmas after having about a year off competing. While working with me, Sally has improved her technique and consistency in the big three, coming away with 103/53/141 on comp day (a 7kg total PB). In addition, we've improved her approach to nutrition and made sure she came in just under 72kg on the day.

04.01.2022 With attachments to the ribs, spine, pelvis, scapula and upper arm, the lats are one of the biggest muscles in our back. They are crucial to just about any pressing or pulling movement we perform in the gym. The lats play an important role in our spinal and scapular health, as well as our posture. While lifting, the lats assist in maintaining scapula stability and transferring of force through the trunk. Learning to engage and use them effectively will carry over to stron...ger and safer lifting. I recommend 2 x10 (each side) single arm lat pull-down before lifting to wake up those sleepy lats. These can be done with a band or light cable. Additional activation sets can be used between warm-up or working sets as necessary. Tips and cues: - Hand through the band, pronated (overhand) grip. - Allow a long stretch before the pull. - Think about pulling your elbow to your pelvis, your scapula to your back pocket and your shoulder away from your ear. - Allow some lateral flexion (crunch to the side) and briefly pause at the bottom to increase the contraction. @equilibrium.training @the_strongside

04.01.2022 Last post to round out the Equilibrium Training team at the Asia Pacific Championships in Hong Kong! I competed in the comp as well, winning the open u72kg category with a 435kg total at 68kg bodyweight. This was just 1kg on my previous best total but I gained valuable experience on the platform in another international comp.

03.01.2022 Manual therapy is the gold standard, but your stretching, foam rolling, amd movement preparation are all still important. Don't skip your warm ups or you might be forced to skip your whole session! Having trouble managing your pain or niggles? Book in to the clinic and I'll get you on the right track --> @equilibrium.clinic

02.01.2022 Just a handful of the women we had in the gym today for our team training session. I am not a female-only coach but I do love coaching women! I'm in a perfect position for it too. Here's to strong women supporting strong women

01.01.2022 TEAM: a group of individuals coming together to achieve a common goal. Our Equilibrium team regularly train and compete together, giving each other the extra push to reach our goals!
