08.01.2022 Women’s Health Week is a reminder for women to look after their health. Part of this is making sure you’re up to date with all your health checks with your doctor. Another part is making sure you’re looking after yourself everyday - this includes your physical well-being and your mental health. Exercise releases happy hormones, giving you an emotional boost as well as making you feel physically strong and healthy. We are here to help keep you on track with all your health needs.
07.01.2022 As Movember comes to a close, we would like to encourage all the men in our community to prioritize their physical and mental health for the whole year. Posted @withregram @movember "I was diagnosed with prostate cancer years ago. I was going to go on human growth hormone, but before you do that, you have to do a cancer scan and make sure you don’t have cancer. They checked my PSA levels and it was very high and I found out I had prostate cancer. After a biopsy, I soon lea...rned I had rectal cancer too. Suddenly, I had some major decisions to make. When I got cancer, I told everyone. I was on CNN that night and revealed to Don Lemon I just found out I had prostate cancer. You don’t need to experiment. Educate yourself. Google it. For those men out there, who consider going to a doctor a weakness, remember this is your health. And for the guys out there growing moustaches for Movember, don’t take anything personal when your wife starts talking bad about you! Tell her it’s for a good cause and it’s not forever. I get a rise out of my wife by letting my hair grow long. She hates it and I love it. I can look like an old Albert Einstein with my hair all messy. Sometimes you’ve got to shake things up."- Pop Icon @HeyTommyChong from @cheechandchong with some wise words for the men out there.
07.01.2022 Let’s get comfortable talking about mental health. If you’re struggling, make an appointment for a mental health assessment and take a positive step towards change. Posted @withregram @movember The fact is military personnel and first responders are more at risk for mental health issues and PTSD than the general population. However, in the last decade, there’s been a shift from the old school ‘man up’ & ‘tough it out’ mentality that pervaded earlier military generations a...nd was accentuated through Hollywood. We’re in a period right now, in my experience, where more and more people are comfortable talking about their mental health and encouraging others to do the same. If I could give any advice to other veterans and first responders, it would be to understand that’s it’s ok to not be ok and that it’s normal to have a mental response to an abnormal situation. We see things that the everyday public isn’t necessarily exposed to. It’s our job, it’s what we’re trained to do. But we’re also human and you just never know how you’re going to react to something until it actually happens. There are people out there who want to listen and want to do whatever they can to help. And while not everyone may feel as comfortable talking to someone in their family or to their crew about the struggles they are dealing with, know there are other outlets out there. Help is out there. Cpl Daniel Veiras (Toronto) Visit link in profile for Daniel’s full story . . #InTheBarberChair #WhyIMo #Movember #lestweforget #remembranceday #veteransday
