13.01.2022 Laminits is very real, and more common than what many horse owners would realise. Many horses dont exhibit the classic signs of laminitis, but may be suffering... from sub-clinical, mild acute or mild chronic; for which many horses can still seemingly work or train fine, or just a little 'off'. While others are struck with laminitis/founder that is delibitating and can can be faced with devastating outcomes. https://www.rvc.ac.uk//new-equine-research-reveals-laminit
03.01.2022 So I have been doodling (bear with me I cannot draw) But I thought I would show my clients about what I mean when I mention the missing lamellae in the horses n...eck it is weak at c5 and missing at c6 and c7 but in the anatomy books it is present all the way down (newer books are coming out with this information) so my clients will see what i mean when you look in the anatomy book versus real life. Most domesticated horses have had this part bred out subconsciously as the horse is more compliant in moving the neck (donkeys and the less domesticated horses still have it intact go figure ). This is why it is important your horse does not suppsort itself when ridden or inhand by bracing the neck I don't profess to be an anatomist and I can remember at my first dissection I word associated lamellae with lemoncella to remember it But it's a simple drawing with a simple explanation as to why it's important we help the horse to lift the base of the neck rather than letting it brace the neck . All credit is due to Sharon May Davies as she was the one who I watched during dissections and I would be a different therapist had I not seen what goes on beneath the skin https://www.google.com/url See more
03.01.2022 We love people who don’t waste the skins, they are gold! Takes a little practice but Justin Mckee has nailed it. He says Wash the skins, pop them in water in t...he fridge, soak them until the water turns orange. Strain the skins out. Drink away! You can add a little ginger syrup, but you don’t have to! It’s seriously delicious. Even old sweet tooth here had it without ginger syrup @JustinMcKee . . . . #achacha #skins #nutritionallydense #achachaskindrink #nosugar #ginger #tryit #nowaste #healthyfood #achachaplantation See more
