24.01.2022 Congratulations Dave! What an awesome story about some very important work!

24.01.2022 We're back for 2016!!! Look out for news and views.. EAP practitioner workshop this Saturday, contact us for more details.

24.01.2022 Who’s moving your feet I’ve learnt a little these past few months and to be honest some parts of lockdown were really good for me.. I’ve recognised I needed to slow down at times, be okay with having home days and make sure that I’m the one in charge of where my feet go.. Over the years I’ve been so driven to help people I’ve often given up control of my own feet. Think about it like this; I’ve been run-around, or had to step-back, been pushed into, swept up by, or found my...self in someone’s else’s shoes.. These are all really common sayings for a very common way we work with each other = moving feet. When was the last time you; held your ground, or only stepped in the direction you intended to go? In some sessions I chat to people about having a personal space bubble around them. Think of it as a circle around you: most people think they step forward into something (eg. take action) and step back from (eg. submitting). But we also remind people they also have sideways and diagonals which could represent compromise or new paths they haven’t been on before. In Horsemanship we talk about being in control of our own feet, and I expect the horse to be in control of his, but also conscious of whether the horse is making us move our feet.. when I start to ask something of my horse (or someone), I prepare. I check where are my feet, I ground myself, I lift my energy, and begin from a how little does it take so as not to demand or over-use the relationship. Typically it’s not this clear when it comes to the relationships in our lives. But all the more reason to practice good unambiguous relationship principles by being grounded, lifting your energy first, and starting with small steps in your intended direction, and being ok with people who might not want to go there with you, or people who might want to follow you. Leadership of yourself is a healthy thing! For more ideas and strategies, get in touch, or comment below if you can think of anymore moving feet sayings! By Equine Time 23/9/2020

18.01.2022 Getting ready for summer..

18.01.2022 A WORD ABOUT ECLIPSES, EXPANSION, AND BEING TRUE TO YOURSELF The upcoming Eclipses are divine portals to your inner power, and your ability to intentionally ex...pand your light. You were always designed to expand, not to shrink. You were designed to open yourself, not close down in fear. You were meant to make a mark upon the world: an imprint that is innovative, refreshing, exciting, uplifting, empowering. Sometimes we forget what is possible. We grow up influenced by the belief systems and thought-forms of those closest to us in childhood. Our minds also become heavily conditioned by mass ideology and media/political/social/religious forms of control and propaganda. The Universe will, at some point, encourage you to grow beyond your parents' beliefs, beyond your ancestry, beyond your social conditioning, beyond any parameters that limit the expression of your Soul's fullness. Expansion. Growth. Positive Change. Possibility. Limitlessness. Blowing the roof off what you think is your reality. Realising that you are a Gift. The Gift lives in your Heart's Desires. The Gift must find it's way to those who need it. The Gift can no longer hide away. The Gift is never realised if it stays within too-comfortable patterns. The Gift needs an element of risk and challenge to come alive. The Gift is not anyone else's ideas of what your life should be. The Gift is YOU. The upcoming eclipses say to you, "The Gift of your Soul won't reveal itself through repeating what you've always done. Shake-ups are the Universe's way of brushing the dust and debris off the jewel that lives inside you. Now is the time to do something new. You won't know what will happen. You won't have a guarantee. You won't know if everything will still be okay after you've taken the risk. There is no harm in this. There is no harm whatsoever in not knowing. The only harm lies in not doing anything differently. Staying in the same old rut. Repeating, endlessly, the same old unconscious patterns. The real danger lies in never finding out what you could possibly be. Keeping small so not to threaten others. Pushing your truth down from fear of what others might think. Remaining predictable and safe just so others can rely on this perception of you for their own comfort and lack of courage to grow. Other people do not run your life. You do." These Eclipses may make you focus particularly on being truthful within relationships. You may be encouraged to look at where your relationships are based on truth, acceptance and real love - as opposed to co-dependency. If your truth makes others so uncomfortable that they harshly judge and blame you, it clearly reveals their own psychology and level of conscious awareness. If someone who claims to love you cannot accept your truth, then they are reliant on their 'story' of who you are, which is replacing their own inner security and wholeness. If you truly love someone, you accept who they are in the present moment. You accept that they can change their mind, make new decisions, and grow. You do not project your own lack onto them. You own your own feelings and take responsibility for them. Controlling somebody out of inner emotional lack and fear is not the same as loving them. "I love you", so often is a false statement. Underneath the message can be: "I love you if you stay the same. I love you if you fulfil these emotional needs for me. I love you if you do what I want. I love you so much I want you to lie about your true feelings just to make me feel okay. I love you only if you help me avoid looking at the parts I need to heal." The spiritual truth is this: being authentic, and speaking your truth clearly and with love, automatically gives rise to the highest outcomes. Truth for you is essentially truth for everyone. Truth unlocks truth. Others may not see it this way to start with. But ultimately, living in truthful alignment empowers everyone involved. It sets off powerful waves of inner growth and development. You are not responsible for other people's life paths, they are. If something was once true for you, but now isn't, you have the right to change your mind. It is always important for Lightworkers to remember this, because you are so deeply programmed to empathise with others' pain and suffering. But we know what happens when you sacrifice yourself for others' happiness, don't we? A long, toxic, highly damaging road of self-abuse and negative dynamics ensue. And - it doesn't make anyone truly happy. Eclipses shine huge spotlights on all areas where you are hiding your truth. It is safe to listen to, and act upon, your truth. Indeed, it is what is now calling you to your highest function and happiness.

16.01.2022 Finding Every Opportunity to Give a Good Face... Welcome back, slowly but surely we are gaining our momentum and to support this new social environment, we wanted to add a new layer of articles and things of interest for our followers that may not be able to see us in person just yet. I got to thinking the other day, how my new baby will get to see the world as she grows up in a very different environment to my toddler. It started when the family care nurse mentioned that som...Continue reading

11.01.2022 What’s happening is meant to be happening.. We all know when we stop, or just slow down for a bit, we notice more. We then start to be better at just being present.. have you realised how long minutes take to go by when you have to sit and wait for something?... Horses teach us to be more present. They live in their present moment more intensely than we do, attributed to the fact that they are prey animals. They have to be alert to predators and take every opportunity to sleep or eat or just relax when they can. Layering what horses can teach us, over our everyday lives and working with each other could look like; being more attentive to your partner’s conversations, sitting on the floor and playing in your child’s game, remembering to chew and appreciate each mouthful of food or even just watering the garden; can bring a new depth to our lives. In coaching people, I use this phrase when it may look like not much stuff is happening for them, or when we’ve plateau-ed in their learning, into a consolidation phase. Sometimes it can also mean that we have moved too quickly over something and the slowness helps to bring new stuff to the surface, other times it can be an opportunity for self-reflection to see what WE might need to do ourselves in our actions and in relationships that don’t serve us well. In sessions we experience a lot of stuff, and much of it happens at pace, so it’s important to remember to just be, in this present moment for what it is, because we won’t get that moment again. To see if this therapy is what you’ve been looking for get in touch, we have more session times opening for 2021.

11.01.2022 In horsemanship I get so excited when I find a sweet spot with my horse and I am validated when I find a sweet spot for a client in sessions too. Many client over the years have found their sweet spot, whether it be goose-bumpy moments, the realisation that something has just worked out, or they finally just completely let go of something that had been bothering them for a while. Read more and feel free to leave us a comment... https://equinetime.com.au/finding-the-sweet-spot/

06.01.2022 I have a theory. I don’t know how accurate it is and I don’t have any indisputable evidence for it. I only have my interpretation of my experiences of training ...horses. Here goes. In my work, I try very hard to prioritize changes in a horse’s thought before changes in their feet. The reason why this works so well as an approach to training is that thoughts are linked to emotions and emotions hold a stronger influence over a horse’s behaviour than movement. This can get complicated, but I will try to simplify. Thoughts and emotions are intricately linked. One affects the other. What a horse is feeling affects what it is thinking of doing. Conversely, a horse’s thoughts can trigger different emotional states. Bad feelings can cause thoughts of escape and/or resistance. Calm, relaxed feelings can improve focus and thoughts to go-with us rather than fight us. Conversely, the opposite is true. Thoughts of following our feel result in okay-ness, whereas thoughts of resistance can increase stress and worry. My horse wants to go left, if I want it to go right it can lead to argument and anxiety if one of us does not change their thought. So working at the level of a horse’s thoughts and feelings gives us a path where the horse is just as invested in a good outcome as we are, rather than just training obedience and submission. But why is it so effective? My theory is that horses have strong emotional memory. When we teach a horse a task, it not only learns how to perform a movement, it also learns an emotion it associates with that movement. The memory of that emotion is stronger than the memory of the movement. The emotion will always be a determinant factor in how well the horse performs and how well we get along with it. To put it in human terms to help you understand, consider somebody with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Even years after a stressful experience is over, people can suffer an emotional breakdown and behavioural problems when an emotional memory is triggered by the stressful event. I believe the behaviour of horses are also subjected to the effects of emotional memory If the emotion is negative, the horse will continue to exhibit resistance and behaviours associated with the ill-feelings no matter how well it has learned the movement or ingrained the movement has become. On the other hand, learning to perform a task that is associated with good or soft emotions quickly leads to minimum resistance and trouble and the potential for a horse to perform at its best is greatly enhanced. Let’s consider an example where my horse needs an injection. If my horse is bothered by injections and I twitch his muzzle or ear to subdue his resistance, I will be able to inject him but I will also have added troubling emotions to the experience. Those emotions associated with being injected will be strong and forever. Those troubled emotions will determine his behaviour to being injected for the rest of his life. It means that I will probably always have to twitch him when he needs an injection. Needles will always trigger bad feelings and a flight/fight response for him. However, if I take the time to handle him in a way that he chooses to change his mind about injections he will feel less troubled about being needled and force won’t be necessary. I believe emotional memory is very real for horses and very potent. If you accept this theory as plausible, it’s logical that we should always ask a horse to change its idea to one we would like it to have before being fastidious about what the feet are doing. It’s our best chance of keeping the ‘try’ in our horse and building a working partnership.

03.01.2022 Hollywood and Don travelled up to Newcastle yesterday for a very important job. To meet Rita Meredith. When Rita was in her early 20’s she was a police office...r in the United Kingdom. After 2 years of service she decided to try the Mounted Police. She was the first female Mounted Police Officer in the UK!! Rita Meredith nee Browning is currently quite unwell and is not expected to return home. She is spending her days in hospice care in Newcastle. Her main wish before she passed was to smell or see a horse for one more time. Rita’s friend contacted us to grant Rita’s last wish. We travelled to Newcastle yesterday to see Rita and make her wish come true. Hollywood and Don made Rita’s day. There were plenty of tears shed and beautiful memories made.
