25.01.2022 To all of my valued clients, just want to let you know that I will continue to work, seeing horses during this latest COVID-19 lock down. We need to keep up the 1.5m social distancing, and I will continue to maintain a high level of hygiene, (hand sanitising between clients and changing clothing, cleaning my boots as often as possible.) We will all eventually get through these stressful times! Please all stay well and keep up the social distancing! Cheers Annette

25.01.2022 The muscles in this diagram frequently become sore as a result of Ill fitting saddles, (pain referred forward from the pressure area, and radiating down the shoulder.) Horses will often refuse to go forward freely, can stumble frequently, and will often refuse jumps. The pain in this area can be intense, and can even cause some horses to rear and buck. Other reasons for pain in this area can be from horses reaching through or under fences to graze. In doing this, they put th...eir bodies in an unnatural position, straining the muscles. My muscle treatment is an effective way to resolve all muscle issues. I can be contacted on 0408502839, or inbox any time. Cheers Annette. See more

24.01.2022 I will be at Black Horse Lodge on Tuesday 1/9/2020 taking appointments for horses with muscle pain, from 1100 am. Appointment times are: 11.00am, 1200pm, 1.00pm, 2.00pm. Please call or inbox if you are interested! I have worked at BHL regularly over the past few years, looking forward to visiting again! Cheers Annette!

24.01.2022 I have been treating quite a few horses with shoulder injuries lately. there are many reasons and ways for these to occur, and with the recent wet weather, and more to come, horses can slip and slide on the wet ground. Slipping and sliding is a very common way for a horse to sustain all sorts of soft tissue injuries, and as you can see here with the shoulder diagram, the muscles areall closely connected, so before you know it, not only is your horse sore in the shoulder, he will have neck and back problems too, as well as discomfort around the girth area.

18.01.2022 - ATTENTION MEMBERS - - SAVE THE DATE - NVSJC has tentatively booked in a clinic with the wonderful Jamie Coman on the 13th and 14th of June. P...lease be aware this date is subject to government regulation updates allowing the clinic to go ahead. The clinic will be available on Global Entries if approved to run closer to the date. This post is purely to let our members know we are working towards this clinic and if interested to give you time to get your horses prepared and of course save the date in your calendars. We will not be taking any bookings at this stage, so please be patient. In the mean time happy training!

17.01.2022 This is interesting. Many of my clients have horses who are "head shy". It make sense to try the "towel tecnique" mentioned here.

15.01.2022 I have plenty of experience with horses to offer clients!! This year will be my 50th year as a rider!! I cannot believe how fast this time has flown by!! Growing up with parents who had extensive knowledge about horses was a huge bonus, and I always assisted my father when he broke young horses into saddle and harness. I have ridden in many different equestrian sports including showing, eventing, and a bit of dressage, but the love of my life has always been showjumping, an...d I have competed in this since the age of ten, with a lot of fun and great results. I don't plan to stop any time soon, inspite of EA being in a huge mess at the moment!! (Also the Covid19 mess!) In saying all of this, I believe that as a long time and current "rider" I am able to understand many of the horse's ridden, and driven issues when they arise. I know how it feels when you get on a horse, and things "just don't feel right." I have been there and done that, so can resolve many of these issues. As well as treating soft tissue injuries in your horse, I can help you to formulate an exercise regime to help get your horse fit , develop more topline etc. I am happy for anyone to message and call me, to ask questions and discuss any horse issues as well as do consultations, as after all, I want to help horses and their riders be the best that they can!! Feel free to contact me any time. I am taking appointments for the next few weeks. Cheers Annette.

14.01.2022 I think I have several names!!!

13.01.2022 Had a lovely morning catching up with Andrea, Louise, and the very large animals!! My work brings all shapes and sizes of horses to me, with the added bonus of dogs!! This beautiful fellow was bigger than some of my equine patients! I think I will eventually look into doing a massage course for dogs.

13.01.2022 My treatment helps muscles to heal by stimulating the circulation. Fresh blood supply to a damaged muscle supplies oxygen to the area, much needed for the tissue to heal. The circulatory system also removes toxins from the damaged muscles, and transports them out of the horses body. You might notice that your horse drinks more and passes more urine after a treatment. this is due to the toxins being moved along by increased circulation. Tango (pictured) is a young horse who ...is being ridden more, and was feeling sore behind the saddle regeon. This is common for horses who have had an increase in their work, or are leaning to become more collected. this type of soreness is easily resolved with a treatment and a couple of days rest. The sacral area, (behind the saddle) is a common site of injury in a lot of horses as it is the "engine room" where all the power, or most of it comes from to propel the horse along. I am happy to be contacted by anyone wanting to know more about my work, how it works, what I do etc, so feel free to call or inbox any time. Cheers Annette! See more

13.01.2022 This diagram shows some great ideas for developing power and suppleness over poles. They can be done at a walk to begin with, then build up to a trot. just a few repetitions will be enough for the first week, and you can build up from there. I have a lot of these, happy to share. They come from the super book by Linda L Allen, "101 jumping exercises for horse and rider.".

12.01.2022 Getting a cuddle from "Yobbo" after his treatment!!

12.01.2022 Organising the next few weeks appointments. Lets stay safe, wear our masks and keep up the social distancing so we can remain well. Happy to keep booking in my regular clients and accepting new ones too. Cheers Annette

10.01.2022 Thought I would repost this, as I think It's important to remember some of these points!

10.01.2022 This is very informative and important reading. I am constantly seeing laminitic or pre laminitic horses at the moment. Many people are not aware of early signs.

09.01.2022 I think that this is a very important read, as we all use bridles. I have been having chats to a few clients lately about pressure points on bridles, and the fact that horses suffer from headaches just like we do. When you look at the diagrams of facial nerves, you can see why.

09.01.2022 With some more warm weather heading our way, there are always lots of things to consider in day yo day care of our horses. It's not always possible, or necessary to ride on an arena daily, but fast work on hard ground can cause horses to become muscle sore due to the "jarring" effect of the hard ground. Symptoms can be shoulder soreness, and a shortened length of stride, as well as some "girthiness". stoney, or gravel roads can cause bruises to the soles of even shod hooves. ...Sweaty saddle cloths need to be washed regularly, as dried sweat can rub and cause back soreness, as well as some pretty nasty skin irritations. It is a great time of the year for all sorts of riding, so get out there and have fun. I am happy to visit clients any time near and far! Give me a call if you have any issues! Cheers Annette See more

08.01.2022 A bit of info on how what I do works!! I perform a number of moves across the soft tissue of the horse. This tecnique is performed in a sequence, which helps to release tension in the muscles. As well as this, the fascia, nerves, circulatory system, including the lymphatic system are all stimulated, with a generalised "rebalancing" of the horse's body taking place. In addition to this, I perform suppling stretches. I am happy to discuss an exercise regime for your horse, as well as check to see how well your saddle is fitting! Cheers Annette.

08.01.2022 Taking appointments for the next few weeks. Call or inbox to book your horses in!

07.01.2022 Reminds me of the "all shapes and sizes I see whenI'm out and about!

05.01.2022 To all of my clients..... Just wanting to say, that I hope everyone is getting out and enjoying their riding in this lovely weather, and that I will be taking the public holidays around Christmas off. All other days, including the week between christmas and new year, I will be available to treat horses. so No "holidays" for me! Cheers Annette. Feel free to contact me for appointments any time.

04.01.2022 I have been telling people this forever!! Horses are not designed to move repeatedly in very small circles!! It strains their joints if over done. that goes for prolonged lunging too! If you ride in a larger area than a 20 x 60 arena as often as you can, you are doing you horses a favour and will prolong their sporting life. Too much circle work will unbalance the horse in general. Build up to the circle work you need to do gradually, break it up with long and low, hill work if possible and straight line walk, trot and canter work.

03.01.2022 Congratulations to the Barton family, having a very successful day at the ponyclub championships with their beautiful Galloway "Rocky" winning and placing in all of their classes including Champion senior pony club mount. He was a very sore boy a few days ago, but after having a rather intense treatment has recovered well. Like most horses, he had managed to hurt himself not long before this important competition! Luckily he has bounced back in the best possible way!

03.01.2022 Another busy morning. great to have so much work to do. This week is pretty much booked out, so give me a call or inbox me if your horses need a treatment in the near future.

01.01.2022 happy to travel to large or small numbers of horses!! Check out my page for more information! Cheers Annette!

01.01.2022 I have a few appointment times available this week, and next, so feel free to contact me any time! Cheers Annette.

01.01.2022 visited this beautiful boy this morning. He was so well behaved during his treatment, despite being really sore in several places. I'm sure he will do well when the show season gets up and running!! Nice to see you and your horses today Jolene Bulled and Katie Zander

01.01.2022 Beth enjoying a treatment today. This wonderful mare is such a star !! A real favorite of the pupils of Frank Palomares.
