21.01.2022 #gelding scar What is Gelding scar? Although castration is a very common surgery but this simple procedure sometime can have a big impact on horse health and performance.... During castration we cutting the tissue and removing the testes. During the healing process the body produces scar tissue which can branch out from its origin and stick to other tissues nearby.#scar tissue is much less flexible than non scar tissue and it has less blood supply. What happening in #gelding scar is : remaining spermatic cord and the cremaster muscle can stick to skin or the inguinal ring or to the tissues on the outside of the abdominal wall. This adhesion can have a huge negative impact on horse performance. I seen lots of horse owners complain about the hind limb lameness but the real problem wasn’t the limb ,problem was gelding scar. ______________ #drkambizgivar#equines_science#equines#geldingscar#geldingscars#castration#perthracing#racingperth#throughbred#ascotracing#equinemassagetherapistperth#physiotherpy#rehabilitationperth See more

10.01.2022 #box_walking is another stereotypic behaviour. Box-walking is the name given to describe characteristic, repetitive pacing movements that a horse may make around its stable. The horse typically paces around the sides of the confined area and may seem preoccupied with this behaviour and have difficulty stopping.this behaviour is an indicator of compromise welfare and poor management. #box_walking .

08.01.2022 Fitting the correct size bridle in the correct place is as important as correct saddle fitting. The nose band should be below the rostrum end of the facial crest and infraorbital foramen and above the nasoincisive notch. Nose band should not be to tight . So it’s is so important to choose the right bridle.... Picture from posture and performance horse.

03.01.2022 Don’t waste your money on certain supplements when there is no scientific research behind it. Some supplements advertise and they claim that Creatine powder can improve Creatine phosphate pathway . This is just a Myth and CP pathway can not be improved either by training, diet or additives in horses (at least researches showed that up to now) . Even if improve it, the CP pathway is just run for 30 seconds Max but this is not the case so before fall in to advertisement gimmick consult with your vet.

02.01.2022 Which one is cheaper electrolyte paste or lucerne hay? Horses lose 10gr electrolyte per litre of sweet If average 500 kg horse lose 25 litre of sweet, he/she gonna lose 250 gram of electrolyte . 60 ml Electrolyte pasts in general have between 8 to 23 gram electrolyte depends on brand.... Even if we consider 23 gram, for replacing 250gram of electrolyte we need almost 11 tubes. Each tubes cost 17.5 dollar so we have to pay 192.5 dollar to replace 250gram of electrolytes .in comparison each kilo of lucerne hay has 30 gram of electrolytes and hay cost around 0.83 cents per kg. for replacing 250 gram electrolyte we need around 8.5 kg of hay which will cost around 7 dollars only. Also you need to add NaCl but is cost nothing. Plus I don’t need to emphasise the benefits of chewing . So you decide now! . . . . . /=.~ . . (lucerne Hay) 0.83cents . . .
