10.01.2022 A good visual of saddle placement

02.01.2022 This week’s Point of the Week (P.O.W.!) is Shoulder Crevice (TH 14). It helps with all types of shoulder issues. This point lies on your horse’s shoulder region.... Start by doing a few gentle flat hand strokes over your horse’s side near the shoulder. If your horse is receptive, you can continue. Carefully feel your horse’s side and find the point of the shoulder the bony point of the shoulder joint. You can lift the hoof if you need to see where the the joint lies. Once you have found the shoulder joint, you want to go right behind the joint to the soft tissues behind the shoulder. Shoulder Crevice (TH 14) lies behind the bones of the joint, right snug up to the joint. To stimulate the point gently apply soft steady pressure for 10-45 seconds. Note that if your horse has shoulder pain, this point may be sensitive and you may need to simply hold your palm over the point or help your pet by working on the opposite side instead. Come learn more in the FREE Silver Linings Facebook group. Join our Silver Lining Saturdays events, short live chats about the points each week. Or catch the replay afterward. The approaches we suggest here are only to SUPPORT proper veterinary care. But once you have a diagnosis and treatment strategy from your vet, add on some acupressure to boost the effectiveness of the veterinary approach and give some added relief to your horse.
