16.01.2022 Equipe Industries visits BHP in the Pilbara.

16.01.2022 On Monday I had the privilege of sharing my safety message with my work colleagues at our National office in Sydney. "I will certainly never forget your story, and I've got no doubt that you will positively change the attitude towards safety and behaviour of those in the room. You are such a strong person to turn your situation into something that can help prevent future injury and loss of life. Thank you!"

07.01.2022 A big thank you to all the guys from Veolia that had me out to speak about the importance of making good choices behind the wheel of a car. It is so important to know that one unconsidered choice in the car can change not only your life, but those that are closest to you for the rest of their lives! #drivesafe #bigpicture

07.01.2022 Last week was privileged to be able to speak to the community in Port Hedland on Road Safety and Work Safety. Spoke to 140 year 10s at Hedland Senior High School on Monday, thank you to Mayor Camilo Blanco for his insightful introduction. Tuesday started with a chat with David Eckhart at Spirit 1026 Hedland, then it was off to Veolia Port Hedland & Northwest Alliance, along side some staff from BHP to chat about work place safety. A quick car ride back to South Hedland for a... presentation to the young people at North West Tafe Pundulmura and the JD Hardie Center, just down the road to where I grew up, about the importance of smart choices on our roads. That evening I was honoured to speak to some FMG staff in the Cockatoo room at Club Hamilton, on the value that we give our decisions when it comes to Safety. Finished the night with a community talk at Wanangkura Stadium. Loved being able to share some stories about growing in Hedland and how the decisions that you make in life can change your future. A big thank you to St John Ambulance North West for making my visit possible, FMG Club Hamilton for the accomadation, and Budget for the rental car. Thank you to Hedland SHS, Veolia Hedland & North West Alliance, North West Tafe, Corrective Services South Hedland, and FMG. I hope my message has left a lasting impression, and that Safety on the road and in the Work place will be something that is at front of all our minds. Loved coming back to where I grew up! If you would like your workplace, organisation, or school to hear my safety message please contact me - [email protected]

01.01.2022 This week a couple of the presenters for Equipe was honoured to spend the week in the Pilbara, presenting Safety Talks to the BHP staff. We started in Port Hedland Monday, Finucane Island and Nelson Point, then it was off Port Haven in the evening for a bbq and some wheelchair basketball. Tuesday off to speak to the ladies and gents at Mooka, an amazing new automated site. Nigel and Rob shared their stories to help bring a greater focus to Safety. 200kms later down the dirt ...track we reached Redmont, just enough time to have kip, before some more wheelchair basketball. Wednesday started at Redmont with an early morning 'safety start'. We were then able to spend the next hour sharing on the value of safe choices at work and on the road. Back on the road again, another 150km down the track to speak to the staff at Yandi. Was a great presentation with Nigel and Rob leaving the audience in silence on who a 'split second' decision can change your life forever. Back to camp for dinner and some more Bball. Thursday was the earliest of starts, but there is nothing more beautiful than a Pilbara sunrise. Spoke to the Rail crew about making Safety a for-thought not an after thought, with some incredible feedback. We then made our way to the admin crew speaking about safety and the importance of speaking to someone when you are struggling mentally. Another 200km later and we had reached our final destination, Newman. Checked into camp for a quick dinner and an early night. Friday up nice and early for a 'Safe Start', and straight into it, speaking to a room of miners about the importance of safe decisions at work, and how often these accidents really do happen. Was a powerful trip with many saying it was the best safety presentations they had ever seen, and that it will definitely change their actions and thoughts when it comes to Safety at Work and on the Road. Massive thank you to the hosts that drive us around the beautiful Pilbara, to all the sites that made us feel so welcome, to the ladies and gents that got out of their comfort zone to give wheelchair basketball a go, but the biggest 'Thanks' goes to Caren for making it all happen. If you would like to bring a safety presentation to your site please contact us at [email protected]
