25.01.2022 OEAQ FNQ Facilitators of Outdoor Learning (FOOL’s) Forum 2020. Thank you to the 42 people who attended the annual FNQ Fool’s Forum on Saturday at the Northern ...Outlook in Redlynch, Cairns. From all reports this day was incredibly valuable and enjoyable for all, with a wide range of practical sessions including abseiling, climbing, low ropes activities, field archery, a first aid escape room scenario, tracer-tracking, mountain-biking, outdoor video production and student preparation and learning. Thank you to Glen Mollenhauer and the Northern Outlook team for their assistance in hosting the event and facilitating a number of sessions. Thanks to Anglican for the wonderful catering and also to Equipped Outdoors for providing several equipment prizes for competitions including the quality CPR and orienteering challenges. Thank you also to those who travelled significantly for the event, including Mark Squires from Outdoors QLD who travelled from Brisbane, the Outer Limits team and Hannah from Townsville, David from Camp Fairbairn near Emerald and Alison form Mt Isa. Thank you to the presenters including Glen, Mick, Helen and Jonny from the Outlook, Darren and Bevo from TAS, Mark from Outdoors QLD, the FNQ Bowmen Club, Dan from Dan’s Mountain Biking and Peter from Aquatic Response. Looking forward to the 2020 events in FNQ which will most probably include a FOOLs forum and Practical training session at TEEC on the Tablelands at a similar time next year and potentially another PD session in the middle of the year in Cairns.

21.01.2022 By now many of you will have seen advice regarding sanitization of PPE. Wilderness Equipment have now released their recommendations for the disinfection of general outdoor goods, such as clothing and tents. Handy!

20.01.2022 Logging equipment in and out is easy with the new Edelrid Joker supplied by Equipped Outdoors, a supporter or the OEAQ. With provision for a RFID chip, electronic record keeping can be easily done for each harness. How do you log your roping gear?

19.01.2022 STATEMENT: Victorian Camps Sector in Crisis "...We simply ask DET to provide guidance to schools that will allow the camps sector to plan for a timely return to... service. Continued tardiness in providing advice will be disastrous to the Victorian camps sector, indeed there may very well not be a camp sector if this situation is to continue indefinitely..." 09.01.2022 **COVID-19 UPDATE** It is not news to any of us that our beloved industry has faced a range of challenges of late. Fire, flood and now a pandemic means that there will be both emotional and financial hardships for many of us in the coming months. Please let us know if you require any help - this is not limited to equipment supply and may include staff, First-Aid supply or advice. We may not be able to assist directly, but may know someone who can. ... Remember, the great outdoors is still calling - and is perhaps the best place to be right now. Equipped Head Office and Warehouse operations continue at this time. We are beginning to see shortages as a result of Covid-19. We maintain good stocks where able; but things can change quickly. The Australian Dollar will hinder / increase prices on top up stocks. We are being proactive to mitigate any identified risks through appropriate hygiene practices. Contact us for our full COVID-19 statement. Much love to you all in these trying times and thanks for your continued support. Team Equipped.

09.01.2022 A fantastic photo taken by Dave Schefe, near Mt. Binga Outdoor Ed. Centre in the Blackbutt Range. How lucky are we to live in such a beautiful country!

04.01.2022 Where there's a will there's a way! Glengarry Fitting day looked a little different this year. Plenty of great equipment once again, including gear fro m @mont and @wilderness_equipment

03.01.2022 The last few weeks has seen our clients coming to us looking for a new range of product - mostly centred around hygiene and reducing contact in the workplace or Outdoor Ed Centre. Remember, if it's used in the outdoors, or in First-Aid, we can supply it. We love hunting down niche equipment! Some great examples so far have been Non-Contact Infrared Thermometers and Oztrail Portable Hygiene stations.
