12.01.2022 Jewl, the wide racing greyhound. Owner and trainer were concerned as Jewl is starting to loose races as she is taking the turns extra wide .. for no apparent reason .. after 5 different professionals looking at her and still no answers they decided to contact Equiscan. I was happy to oblige.. and being my first dog hoping to get some answers so Jewl can return to winning form. Report is done and sent off . Results will be posted with owners consent.

03.01.2022 Interesting case the other day, I thought I would share. HISTORY AND SUBJECTIVE COMPLAINTS Age/Gender: 13yrs WB mare Occupation: Dressage Grand Prix... Primary Care Physician: xxxxxx Referring Physician: Owner Clinical Concerns: Ongoing maintenance Current Symptoms: None History and symptoms: 2yrs ago -sacired removed off side hamstring.. ongoing foot abscess off side hind June to Sep 2017 Current Treatment: None Current Medication: None THERMOGRAPHIC INTERPRETATION: Right front leg and foot is hypothermic. There is a relative pattern of hyperthermia below the right anterior fetlock which should be correlated with any artefacts or symptoms. The posterior views of feet show reduced vascular activity in the right foot. The right hind and left front is the dominant diagonal and the right front and left hind appear the weaker diagonal. There is slight hyperthermia at the thoracic sacral junction with some radiation to the right side quarters but no indication of sacral dysfunction. This appears consistent with low grade musculoskeletal inflammation and may correlate with the dominant diagonal. There are two foci of inflammation centrally over the thoracic spine, (lowest point below saddle) which may be joint related. Clinical significance is uncertain but early stage kissing spine cannot be ruled out. There are muscular type hyperthermic patterns over left side tensor fasciae latae and or superficial gluteal regions which should be correlated with any muscular dysfunction and association with weaker diagonal. DISCUSSION: Thermal asymmetries in the legs and feet suggest guarding of the right front leg / foot as there is hypothermic asymmetry from the knee down. The asymmetries in the legs and right front foot do not correlate with historical right hind abscess. See more
