23.01.2022 There is nothing more satisfying than bringing an old deck back to life. With Equisol, we prove that underneath terrible looking failed coatings there is often beautiful timber waiting to be rediscovered. This one had a previous polyurethane coating that couldn’t cope with the timber absorbing moisture from its surroundings (which is what timber is meant to do!) and had started to flake off. This will never happen with Equisol. The future for this unprotected timber would have been cracking, splinters and major restoration. Luckily we got to it first. With the correct preparation and application, this deck will be enjoyed for many years.

14.01.2022 A spotted gum deck restoration. Originally coated with a leading and expensive decking oil, this deck went patchy and remained sticky for a long time afterwards. The oil simply didn’t penetrate the timber. After sanding and cleaning, we brought the deck back to life with 2 coats of Equisol with Mid Brown colour tone.
13.01.2022 Wet edge marks can wreck a beautiful deck or exterior timber wall. They usually happen when the coating dries too fast during application and the colour doubles up where the brush strokes overlap. This coating was applied by an experienced deck painter, who couldn't prevent wet edge marks using a cheaper, well known, poly urethane coating brand. Unfortunately the only solution is to strip and sand the coating off and start again. Equisol will never leave wet edge marks.
12.01.2022 This breaks our lil ol hearts! Tropical and Subtropical weather is absolutely the enemy of untreated timber. You can coat the top of your deck all day every day but when THIS is happening underneath, you've got no hope. Mould, fungus, rot ... it all decays the deck and you end up with something that not only looks horrendous, but it also becomes unsafe. Ideally, timber should be coated on ALL SIX SIDES - top, bottom, left, right, cut end #1 and cut end #2. To make life easier, you can buy your timber precoated with Equisol.

07.01.2022 Would you believe this deck is 6 months old? Located at Immanuel Lutheran College on the Sunshine Coast. Constructed from Ironbark timber with Equisol Pro E365 Timber Oil and Dark Brown Colour Tone. Note the lack of water damage on cut ends and screw holes (the usual culprits for start of rot/weathering). 07.01.2022 Equisol is linseed-oil based, which means no harsh solvent base. It is specially formulated with mould and algae inhibitors to nourish the timber whilst resisting algae attack, dry rot and decay causing fungi like black spot mould or mycelium spores. Fun fact - Cricket bats are treated with linseed oil to protect them from cracking.

02.01.2022 This is an example of a natural look treatment done in Broadbeach Qld. No colour tone was used on new timber to achieve a gorgeous natural style. All timber goes darker with an oil treatment, as did this. However the effect is a nourished looking timber with a matt finish.
