20.01.2022 A crazy first Quarter for the year done. Now off for a little break. With 50% of the full years worth of work completed and lodged what are we going to do after Christmas?

15.01.2022 We have had quite a few people ask us "When is the best time to lodge my return?" or "How soon can you lodge my return?" The answer is an easy one. When you are ready. When all your ducks are in a row. And most importantly when the ATO have all their data through. It is always best to hold off until all details are made available. This includes income, insurances, bank interest, to name a few.... What you can do to prepare is finalising any logbooks, find any receipts, collate any bank statements you might need. Some key dates to be mindful of coming up are: July 30: This is the cutoff date for employers to finalise employees income statements. You might be ready to go but your employer still may not be. October 31: The final date for lodging tax returns by yourself. May 15, 2021: The final date for lodging a tax return through a registered tax agent. Tax time should never be daunting. 13.01.2022 I know that in these economic times some businesses are experiencing higher than normal activity while others are experiencing lower than normal activity. I also know that most news avenues are all about the current climate, & it is a pain as with my job I need to be up to speed about the government packages & economic indicators etc. So to take my mind off the current climate (for a short break) I like looking at interesting statistics sorry they have an economic tendency,... but a get it into perspective approach. As a result I thought I would share some of them in a series of posts titled Did you Know. First one: Did you know that Australia has: - Land mass of roughly 7.7Million square kilometres (ranked 6th worldwide) - Population of roughly 25.5Million people (ranked 55th) - Economy of roughly $1.4Trillion (ranked 14th) Where as USA has: - Land mass of roughly 9.15Million square kilometres (ranked 3rd) - Population of roughly 331Million people (ranked 3rd) - Economy of roughly $21Trillion (ranked 1st) In comparison, Australia: - would take up 84% of the USA’s land mass - has roughly 8% of the population size - has roughly 7% of the economic size In times like this, we can easily take things out of perspective.
