Footwear Biomechanics Recent research suggests that the risk of running injuries is highest in novice runners who exceed 3km in their first week (Nielsen, 2014). In most cases, running injuries dont require you to stop running. 20.01.2022 Injury Prevention As we have seen the return of training for various sports this week, it is important to implement strength and conditioning to sessions in order to make up for the lost training over the past 2 months. Balance and proprioceptive exercises are an important aspect of conditioning and injury prevention programs, given that almost all sports are performed with some single-leg component (jumping, running, kicking, etc).... Following on from our previous video on ankle exercises, the hip plays a vital role in maintaining control of our knee and ankle during dynamic movements.
