18.01.2022 Here at Erbachers our favourite this Citrus Season is Cara Cara Navel Oranges In Australia the Cara Cara season is from June through until August.... The Cara Cara navel is seedless, sweet and low in acid and characterised by little to no pith and easy, clean separation from the rind. It has a red flesh and a sweet flavour. Combined with a good juice level the popularity of this variety is growing at an extraordinary rate. This variety of navel orange actually first became available in the United States back in the late 1980s. However, it wasn't until recently that we started noticing fruit eaters everywhere getting excited about Cara Caras. As Cara Caras transition from a speciality fruit to a mainstream snack, we're exploring what exactly they are and why, all of a sudden, everyone seems to be eating them. If you're the type of shopper who likes to stick to your grocery list and get in and out of the store as fast as possible, you may not even know about the Cara Cara's existence. Well, as we mentioned before, it's a variety of navel that has pink flesh instead of that classic orange interior. The pink shade is caused by the presence of lycopene, the same antioxidant that gives tomatoes their red colour. Our Cara Cara Navels are currently coming from a farm in Yanco, NSW.

04.01.2022 Our Home Grown Silverbeet is currently in season & picked fresh daily from our farm here at Erbachers Here at Erbachers we have 4000 plants which grow from May until October each year. Silverbeet is highly nutritious and a good source of vitamins A, B6, C and K as well as riboflavin and folate... Try silverbeet as -a side with meat, chicken or fish sauté chopped silverbeet, onion and garlic, add pine nuts and currants, then serve while hot. -Make a silverbeet and ricotta pie mix cooked silverbeet with eggs, ricotta, fresh herbs and lemon juice, then spoon into a pastry case (or use filo pastry) and bake until golden. -Serve creamed silverbeet sauté garlic, add chopped silverbeet, a sprinkle of nutmeg and cream and then simmer until the silverbeet wilts. -Bake a silverbeet gratin cook silverbeet in butter with garlic, add some milk and flour, then spoon into a baking dish, toss breadcrumbs on top and bake until golden.
