15.01.2022 This was the original illustration briefing for the shift dress, written back in January 2017: The short sleeved shift dress is for the modern woman to wear in the office, out to brunch and, if she wants, comfortably around the house. Its a dress that is easy to move in (non-restrictive sleeves, material with give that retains shape) but also looks professional and put together. The dress is easy to put on (no difficult buttons or zips) and easy to take care of (machine w...ashable, holds shape over time). Please keep this in mind with regards to zips, pleats, buttons & material suggestions etc. While it is a shift dress, which is a looser style dress, it still has structure. It is not a sack. The shift dress should flatter both slender and curvier women. Clever placement of darts & overall design will help to give shape (to avoid that potato sack look). For this dress, simple and classical is best. Keep it elegant and understated. www.ergonaut.co
