23.01.2022 Today is St Patricks Day and beyond the shamrocks and green dyed Guinness there is an incredibly interesting history behind this day which is celebrated in more countries than any other national festival. Kidnapped at age 16 by Irish pirates, St Patrick lived in Pagan Ireland as a slave for six years before returning to Roman Britain to become a cleric. The place must have rubbed off on him because he returned later and worked as a Bishop converting the mostly Pagan nation t...o Christianity. The modern meaning of the day has morphed into a celebration of all things Irish and a good opportunity to have a pint. We have settled in nicely and the office floor is buzzing with activity and collaboration.
