24.01.2022 Things that I am good at: Marrying. Things I am not so good at: regulating my facial expressions. (This ridiculousness captured at Anna & Kellie’s wedding: one of the most joy filled events I’ve had the pleasure of attending this year.) my best gal @storiesbyash at the always stunning @gordoncountryweddings

22.01.2022 The last wedding I did at @malenymanor was the day before the world fell apart (also I had hair). Within the next 72 hours the following six months of my diary all shifted and my 2021 became an absolute clusterfuck. Today was my first back there since then & it was so bloody lovely. Stoked the girls could get married this year like they planned - even if it wasn’t on their original date, with their original guest list, at their original venue. Crucially: I was wearing @varietyhour_ then too! Second pic is the always amazing @graemepassmore

22.01.2022 Nelson & Jess are bloody angels & two of the crusiest people going: I met them both approximately 30 minutes before I married them. They gave me so much good stuff to work with, so writing their ceremony was the most fun & I spent most of the time at my laptop chuckling away and reading bits aloud to my husband. Cue a very fun bunch of guests who were super enthusiastic, a beautiful location & my darling @storiesbyash taking pics and you have one very amazing afternoon. #TooBlessedToBeStressed

21.01.2022 10/10/20 Amanda & Adam were married on their 10 year anniversary in front a VERY enthusiastic crowd - the kind that rocked up extra early and hit the bar...my favourite kind really. These two beauties spent the entire ceremony gazing at each other with misty eyes - fair to say that when Adam spoke about how Amanda embraced his son from the moment they first met - well, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house; me included. Just the most wonderful & life affirming afternoon. Worked with my best gal @storiesbyash the wonderful team at @thewarehousebrisbane & the incredibly organised @maineventweddings_

21.01.2022 Just over a week ago I got to share the most magical time with Kellie, Anna, their darling daughter and all of their family and pals out at @gordoncountryweddings It was extra special as they invited all of their vendors out to stay the night so that we could all join in the festivities and get to know everyone (read drink wine and sit around a fire). These two have been together for 13 years and put in all of the hard yards to push for Marriage Equality & so their wedding day was particularly momentous. I felt so privileged to marry them & was absolutely honoured to have been invited to share in not only their day, but to have met their family & friends. Shout out to the always amazing @storiesbyash for capturing this for me & for being an excellent cabin mate!

20.01.2022 That We just pulled off a surprise wedding confetti shot! I love when people have weddings that reflect exactly who they are. For Steven & Bel, that wedding was in their lovely little backyard, surrounded by a teeny group of wonderful people & dogs wearing bow ties. These two are self confessed homebodies who are on the same page for everything except when it comes to who is the funniest & where dirty clothes belong - Steven says washing basket, Bel says floor...well she doesn’t say that, it’s just where hers end up A wedding I will forever treasure being a part of. my excellent friend @tennillefink & coordination @tildeath_events @lirika.matoshi Portrait snaps @toddhuntermcgaw @stevenchildsjewellery Makeup @belindanicoll_

20.01.2022 So many people tell me how worried they are about getting photos taken; how they don’t know how to pose or hate smiling on cue. Here’s the thing: an amazing photographer just captures you, being you. How’s this moment between Cath & Adam (both self confessed introverts) - taken straight after their portrait session had finished cheeky @hellolarafurst

20.01.2022 7 years. 327 couples. For a biz that was only ever meant to be a side hustle - shit sure did run away from me but I couldn’t be more grateful. Thanks for the likes, the comments, the support and for telling your engaged pals about me. I love my couples & I love this job. @kristinawild_

20.01.2022 Babes in the bush! Look at this glorious duo will ya?? This is the lovely Rebecca & Chris & they met on a Vegan Facebook page: I’m not even making that up. Such a classic romantic tale. So Rebecca was looking for recommendations for a good restaurant & Chris just happened to be the first person to comment. She was immediately distracted by the fact that he was a bit of a dish and so did what any young woman would do who saw a cute guy online: engaged in a wee bit of good ol...d fashioned facebook stalking. Once she had had a thorough stalk and established that yes in fact he was super hot and vegan she invited him out to a group dinner a very bold move indeed for a young woman who had previously never asked anyone out before; but when you consider that she had just moved across the world well bravery must have been her new thing. Anyway they went for dinner, but were unfortunately stuck with a super annoying guy who limited their chance to chat and so naturally, they had to arrange another date. It’s fair to say, it went well. Married at Springbrook with a teeny tiny group of excellent people and one of my faves @lyndalcarmichaelphotography on the See more

18.01.2022 Leah & Dan got married in our beautiful postcode by the sea. @cloudcatcherstudio was there to capture all of the magic.

18.01.2022 Jussie, Lietzy & I: a photo series entitled, Holy shit that was so much fun can we do it again also I love you both. These two were so open to letting me just run with things & that I did. Their crowd was primed to party & though it was bloody hot, they laughed and heckled with a beer in hand as they watched this amazing duo finally get hitched & much to their own surprise, sing part of their vows. It wasn’t the wedstival they had originally planned, but I’m confident in saying that they wouldn’t have changed a thing. Worked alongside the always amazing @hellolarafurst And in keeping with the maxo relaxo theme - how good is Leitzy’s @rachelgilbertau frock that she bought on sale and required ZERO alterations! Amazing.

14.01.2022 The wedding that was postponed to 2021 came back to 2020 when Jen & Nic saw a sweet little elopement package on offer at the stunning @malenymanor and decided fuck i! We don’t want to wait a minute longer! And so on Friday they got married! These two have waited a reeeeally long time to be able to get married; they have two beautiful daughters and have built a life together - so I was stoked I got to be there to share this moment with them. Huge shout out to the lovely @dontsaycheese_photography for this pic. I also worked alongside @mondofloraldesigns @berryvintagehire @a_georgiabelle & @amandajensen_music

14.01.2022 IS MY JOB THE BEST JOB!? The answer is YES MOST DEFINITELY. I helped Jemma & Callum step into married life yesterday alongside an awesome team of vendors. These two surprised their guests with their beloved pooches Sadie & Bentley who were *meant* to walk down the aisle to them, but of course - dogs do what they want! It was the most fun! Worked alongside my darling @roamingredgen @eilishellenweddings @tessashannonphoto @hanselandgretelcakes @floralsandco @konrad_brewski @avideas_eventhire at my beloved @thecalilehotel #calileweddings

12.01.2022 Oh hey! Just a PSA that I’m still not taking bookings for 2022 and beyond. I’ve been receiving lots of enquiries from you organised lot If you’re super keen to lock someone in, then I can send you the way of excellent celebrants who already have their diaries open for that time. I’ll be sure to give a big old shout out when my books are open. This pic by my gorgeous friend @storiesbyash (look at that gloriously shaped noggin’ will ya??)

11.01.2022 Friday arvo was spent beside the sea marrying this gorgeous duo. Guy & Lauren have been together for 12 years and had a big old wedding planned for @sunshinebeachsurfclub - but then of course they had to downsize and so with 12 guests we got them married on the most gorgeous afternoon with black cockatoos flying overhead. Bloody grand!

11.01.2022 ARGHHHH MY HEART IS SO FULL. Got to marry my beautiful pals this afternoon in an intimate backyard gig complete with an epic confetti toss & dogs in bow ties. Steven & Bel have been together for two years today & decided to surprise their engagement party guests by getting married. Got to drink champers & hang out with my wonderful friends @tildeath_events who put together this floral arbour, @tennillefink who was on ceremony shooting duties & @toddhuntermcgaw & @ladylades who took over for the portrait session. CAN WE ALSO TALK ABOUT BEL’S STUNNING @lirika.matoshi frock?? PS. Love you both very much @stevenchildsjewellery & @belnic_

10.01.2022 Queensland wedding dance floors are back! 40 ppl. Really, I only need one person to shout CRJ lyrics at. Love you NJ. Oh and love you too @storiesbyash taker of epic dance floor shots!

09.01.2022 What a way to Monday! After a couple of postponements Cath & Adam finally decided to just get married. So last Monday they had a beautiful morning ceremony (if I do say so myself ) at @hillstonestlucia followed by a long table lunch with 30ish of their best people. Never underestimate how good a lunchtime reception can be - boozy lunch and an early bedtime. Yes pls! It also worked well with the current dance floor restrictions. Worked alongside the lovely @hellolarafurst & the incredible @katedawesflowerdesign

07.01.2022 Look at these two cuties! Stef & Chris changed their date, their venue and whittled their guest list down to just 16 people - all of them absolute gems. They could not hide the joy from their faces and as the ceremony began I watched their eyes light up as they both giggled and realised that it was FINALLY GOING TO HAPPEN. And happen it did! Shout out to the always amazing & super kind @ivoryandrose.photography and the lovely @wallflower_weddings who were both stars to work with at the stunning @prestonpeakfunctions (also: STEF’S DRESS )

07.01.2022 These beauties have been married one year today. Happy Anniversary Amanda & Kate...you’re both bloody good looking hey. my lovely pal @amanda_peppermintphotography

07.01.2022 Once upon a time, in a bakery at 5am, a bright and bubbly Mackenzie would make up Tim’s heavily discounted salami, ham, chicken, cheese, lettuce and mayo sandwich discounted likely because she thought he was a bit of a dish. She couldn’t help but notice that he was just a really lovely guy and so one evening, after a few drinks she added him on Facebook. Now before you think it was all flirtation and smooching from here you’d be wrong. Alas Mackenzie had a boyfriend, whic...h made it all the more awkward that she would tell her friends about how super cute Tim was and how she wished that she had a boyfriend like him and SUPER bloody awkward when Tim asked her on a date and she had to decline owing to said boyfriend. So for the next few months there was radio silence on all fronts until Mackenzie found herself suddenly single and with some liquid courage, sent Tim a message asking him when he would be returning to the bakery so she could refresh her sandwich making memory. Never a smoother pick up line was uttered. Five-ish years later: they got married! Last Friday was a stunner at @hideawayweddingsau alongside the talented @lovelenscapesphotography @luke.acoustic @redcliffecityflorist & @forever_features_film

05.01.2022 My smile lines have become so much deeper these past 7 years. This job is bloody addictive - you’re always riding this wonderful wave of joy & love. I keep telling my husband that I’ll likely wrap it all up in the next couple of years & he just rolls his eyes at me because he knows that for all of my Bruce Highway/Pacific Motorway complaining: it’s one of my very favourite things to do. This scrunch nose capture by one of my faves @cloudcatcherstudio

05.01.2022 Sometimes you meet your person in the most unexpected place...like at your own wedding. Yep. Steven met Bel when he was the wedding singer at HER wedding, but it wasn’t until years down the track when they both found themselves single that they got chatting and realised that they might just be perfect for each other. They were right. They are just magic together. This awesomeness by the always amazing @toddhuntermcgaw Shout out to Bel for dropping this meeting story into her vows and then immediately following with, Please note that there are deliberately no wedding singers here today.

04.01.2022 I love this bit - the part where I get a feel for your crowd and work out exactly what I need to do to make them get the most out of the next 20 minutes. So much of this job is about people: and not just the people I’m marrying. I literally have five minutes to get a handle on your crew and to get them onside. And if there’s a heckler?? Well, I’ve had 16 years of teaching Year 9 boys: challenge accepted. @lovelenscapesphotography

03.01.2022 Kind words from Sarah & Justin: Erin was our celebrant for our wedding back in September and I have to say that she was everything we could had hoped for. As two fairly easy going people, we wanted our wedding to be as carefree and relaxed as possible which meant not sweating the small stuff over things that didn't matter. What did matter though, was having a celebrant that we vibed with. I had followed Erin on instagram for a long time and she just felt like the sort of per...son we would instantly get along with, someone that we would invite into our lives. From her humour, to her eclectic taste in fashion and everything in between, we knew Erin would be perfect for us. We met with Erin several times before our big day to work out the finer details and whilst Erin was professional, punctual and knowledgeable, it always felt like catching up with a friend, thats just how she makes you feel. There was no issue in changing locations and size of our wedding due to covid, which meant it was just me and my partner with just my best friend walking us down the isle. Erin made me feel so comfortable on the day and kept us all laughing at her jokes and crying tears of happiness at her beautiful ceremony. Thanks for taking part in the most amazing day of our lives Erin! Thank you lovelies!! Pic by the talented @kristinawild_ at @weddingsatriverlife See more

01.01.2022 10/10/20 - Kez & Daz: my I’m never getting married again lovers. But then they met each other & thought, Why not!? We surprised their guests at their postponed engagement party & these two clowned around the whole way through. This theme continued (add some drunk guests) and it made for the longest signing in the history of signing - I’d say a good 30 minutes so it was lucky we were perched at a bar for it. (scroll through) Between the shit stirring & the laughter, we made it legit & I left them to party the night away!
