24.01.2022 The East Ryde Scout Committee would like to advise the upcoming Car Boot Sale scheduled for the 29th March has been cancelled. This decision has been made following the World Health Organisation (WHO) announcement that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has been defined as a pandemic, and the subsequent recommendation by the Prime Minister to reconsider non-essential gatherings of more than 500 people from 16th March. This has been a disappointing decision for the committee to make, ...but it is important that we follow the guidelines from the government which are based on expert health advice and are designed to reduce the community transmission of COVID-19 in Australia. Our priority is the health and safety of our community & members at this time. We will be processing refunds for stallholders this weekend. Please direct any enquiries to [email protected] We look forward to seeing our stallholders, along with all of our regulars and the community at our Car Boot Sale in October. 22.01.2022 This year has been challenging for all of our scouting activities, including our popular Car Boot Sale. We were disappointed we couldn't proceed with our March Car Boot Sale, however the safety and wellbeing of our members and the community are always our primary concern As many of you would be aware this event is usually held on the grounds of the Macquarie Hospital. For the safety and well-being of their patients and visitors, the hospital has significant requirements in p...lace to manage the ongoing risk of Covid-19. As the safety of our members and community is our priority, we support Macquarie Hospital’s efforts to abide by the current NSW Health requirements and have made the decision not to proceed with the October Car Boot Sale this year. We are still very hopeful that our Christmas Tree sales will go ahead on the 12th December 2020, possibly with a change in venue to our awesome site near our hall in John Miller Street. We are exploring pairing the Christmas tree sales with a mini Christmas market. If we feel that we are able to safely host this event we will let you know. 13.01.2022 This Easter long weekend it is crucial we all do our part to take care of ourselves and those around us by staying home.

06.01.2022 The 1st East Ryde Scout Group is one of the largest youth groups in the City of Ryde with around 100 members. We encourage the physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual development of young people so they may play a constructive role in society as responsible citizens and as members of their local and international communities. Staffed entirely by volunteers, we rely on fundraising events such as our Car Boot Sale, Christmas Tree Sales and generous support from our local... community.
