24.01.2022 Nominations are open for the John Sheekey Memorial Volunteer of the Year. The John Sheekey Memorial Award is awarded annually at the State Championships to a volunteer having shown a long-standing commitment to jumping in South Australia. Any SA financial member can nominate a worthy candidate by making a nomination in writing to the Jumping SA Committee by the 2nd of October. ... The Jumping SA committee will consider all nominations and determine the recipient. Current Jumping SA committee members are not eligible. 18.01.2022 We were thrilled to present the 2019 winner of the John Sheekey Memorial Volunteer of the Year Award to Kaye Platt! The John Sheekey Memorial Award is awarded annually at the State Championships to a volunteer having shown a long-standing commitment to jumping in South Australia. Kaye Platt has had a life long commitment to the Strathalbyn Showjumping Club. ... Having lived next door to the Strath Polo Grounds for almost her entire life, Kaye was always there. Whether it was pencilling, judging, putting up courses, moving the sprinklers, maintenance and the list goes on. Kaye has also been the Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and every other position on the committee non stop throughout the years to this day! 16.01.2022 Well the dust has settled and clean up complete at Wayville Showgrounds for another year. What a Fantastic three days of competition we had at the 2019 Thomas F...oods International SA State Jumping Championships. Well done to Tessa Fairweather and her dedicated committee for putting on an outstanding event. Tessa Fairweather, Andrew Paech, Lizzie Wigney, Nicole Bruggemann and Jacqueline Behsmann-Seiboth, thank you for all your tireless work to make this event as successful as it was. I have heard on countless occasions over the last few days how much the riders and spectators alike have enjoyed the event. This is a testament to this committee. 07.01.2022 2020 STATE JUMPING CHAMPIONSHIPS Announcement: After much deliberation, the committee has made the decision to host the SA State Jumping Champs in Mt Gambier this year. ... The dates will remain the same and will allow people to travel down for state champs and stay for the Mt Gambier Easter carnival the following weekend. As a very small committee we were finding it harder and harder to find people to help us get this event off the ground. We were approached with an offer of help from the south east community and we are very appreciative of all the assistance. We look forward to working with everyone down in the south east to put on a wonderful show for everyone. Program will be out soon
