24.01.2022 With only 1 month til the TURKEY BEACH TRACTOR BASH - might be time to start planning what else you can do while you're visiting!! The winter seas have softer breezes, smaller swells - so offshore fishing is usually much easier to achieve. Paul from ELKAT LURES & 3 mates drove up from Sydney for 3 great days fishing just 3 weeks ago - as per the pickies below.

23.01.2022 Well Rob & the Boys had another successful visit recently with quite a few Coral Trout their main captures and the one errant Mackeral that just didn't go away! LOL!! August & September will still be cool, but with light winds and the smaller seas - should still be awesome conditions to visit!

22.01.2022 Well its a new year and the last teenager one for the 21st Century and started with a bang. We spent 5 days from 1st January polishing and cleaning, mowing and ...edging with a new retaining wall to come within the month. Bookings are now coming in regularly (3 just last week) and the first arrivals are very comfy (compared to their normal Motel rooms!). 22.01.2022 Too much rain up north and starting to creep down towards our little patch! Drought on the land = a DROUGHT IN THE SEA! So this will be music to our ears the rain on the tin roof/ves!!

20.01.2022 Easter is already 1/2 over - yet on Thursday its Anzac Day - and for some its another Long Weekend planned. Check your calendar and right after DAWN SERVICE you could be on your way to a Home away from Home at Turkey Beach! And the weather looks like settling down a bit too!!

20.01.2022 Was it Cyclone OMA - or should it have been Cyclone MUNDINE! A lot of huffing and puffing and gone before it did anything! Hopefully a bit more rain is on its way just to green things up a bit! Don't forget TANNUM SANDS MUD CRAB RACES - Annually last weekend of March - to raise funds for Medical Eqpt for local families & Raise Awareness about Mens Mental Health!

20.01.2022 Well the Qld Border closures are certainly helping stop the spread of Australians! Still not sure about CoVid spread being stopped by it? But definitely the ECONOMY OF AUSTRALIA!! Recently had 2 cancellations of fishermen from REGIONAL NSW - who booked in June when it reopened & NOW CLOSED TO THEM!! Its wide open spaces, plenty of social distancing and in full sun - that is totally compliant - but NO ACCESS!! :-( :-(

19.01.2022 Recent Sept'17 trip and a large pod of possibly 15-20 whales with a large Bull keeping his Harem intact!

On 5 acres - its clean, quiet and uninfected!! Except by "MAD KEEN FISHO" disease!! You owe it to yourself and your mates to stay safe! So we look forward to having you as guests soon!

16.01.2022 Good Morning all, Further to our correspondence last week. The COVID19 response is changing almost daily. From a briefing I attended this morning the below directive from the Chief Health Officer was bought to my attention.... A new direction from the Chief Health Officer has been issued which effectively restricts o A person from leaving the residence except for a permitted purpose o groups of more than two persons who are not members of the same household from gathering in any place except for permitted purposes. o Skate parks, outdoor gyms, playgrounds etc are closed There is a finite number of activities that are allowed under this directive. Once I have the definition of what activities are allowed by whom and where etc I will forward another brief. From discussions this morning it would appear that recreational boating is not a permitted purpose At this time could I ask that if you receive queries regarding this activity please provide advice that at this time everyone should be remaining at home. As I get more information I will forward it accordingly. 08.01.2022 The whales "sound/breach" before you see them usually! And they were popping up all around us - while the winter sea was like a mill pond! Gotta love the winter calms!!

08.01.2022 Finally the excavator has shifted the rocks outback! More parking & turnaround space - so much better access still. The driveway will be done tomorrow & looking awesome for summer fishing arrivals!

03.01.2022 As of June 12, 2020 - The QLD Govt has lifted restrictions on "NON-ESSENTIAL TRAVEL" (within QLD) - so we will be opening up Bookings from that date! Of course, social distancing rules will apply - however Fresh Air and Sunshine are acknowledged as beneficial to staying healthy and having a positive on our physical and mental health too! SO - if anyone out there has been going "Stir Crazy" in social isolation etc - now is the perfect time to start planning your return to normality!

01.01.2022 YAY!! Qld is once again to Queenslanders! So just this week we have had 1 booking for November, enquiries for August, September, December and Feb '21! The winter weather is a bit crisp first up, but beautiful daytime in the sun, with whale watching done on Monday for a great start to June! It was like they knew!! And the fishing was awesome - almost like the ocean had recovered! Stay safe & tight lines till we see you here again!!
